And how do you know that the replacement unit doesnt have bad seals, gaskets and leaking injectors also. You have to ask questions before you just go replacing entire units (throttle body). Where was it leaking fuel?? injectors themselves, injector o-rings, fuel pressure regulator, high pressure hose inlet or from the throttle body gaskets themselves. Very seldom does a ECU go bad. I think your mechanic is guessing as to what the problem really is. Do you have spark at the plug wires? Again, Where exactly was the fuel coming from??? CALIBER 308

1G Translator & 3" GM MAF installed: Pics & FAQ
Caliber308 replied to Josh '88's topic in Engine and Performance Mods
Might as well leave the stock MAF on if your only looking for a 2 1/2" Inlet. The reason in going to a 3" MAF is for more airflow and in addition to that, running the 1ST GEN MAF- TRANSLATOR for fuel adjustments   A lot of throttle body users are always complaining about running rich. The 3" GM MAF coupled with the 1ST GEN MAF-TRANSLATOR is the solution. Even on a stock set up, You can adjust the fuel at Idle,Midrange and Wide open throttle   And that speaks volumes!!!!! CALIBER 308 -
Sorry to here that. SUE THE fools!!!!!!! CALIBER 308

The reason I brought this up is that you can buy a aftermarket manifold and throttle body for a Honda for $279.00. Injectors for $275.00. All thats left is some wires and a Fuel Management Computer!!!!!! Starquest owners are paying TOO MUCH!!!!! for a MPI setup. Some see it, some dont??? Just like the aftermarket fuel injector set up. Two Delphi injectors at $75.00 each, two bolts and two spacers. For a whopping $300.00???? Why?? Could it be because Mitsubishi will charge you over $700.00??? So, Who screwing who???? One or both??? Im all for a business man making a profit, but were getting screwed from both sides because of the cars we own. Somebody had to say something about it, might as well be me!!! CALIBER 308
-
Please tell me that a MPI set up doesnt cost $2100.00 from only www.fuelinjectionpros.com!!! Im thinking about it. But $2100.00 is just too steep for my taste, for a fuel feed system   I can see maybe $1000.00 for parts and labor. But $2100.00, Im at a loss for words!!! CALIBER 308

Im running the smaller Aero FPR AEI-13105, used the supplied braket, drilled two holes in the fender well (next to, and on the side of the strut top housing) and attached it with two self tapping screws. CALIBER 308

MARNAL Heads Bare and built! New Just 10 in stock
Caliber308 replied to Dad's topic in Parts for sale
Thats the same way my Marnal was set up. Except for the porting and polishing. You guys are crazy if you dont purchase one of these heads   When I did my engine rebuild. I took one of the same Marnals that Dads selling to the rebuilder. I told him I wanted a port and polish on the head. He looked at my kind of funny and said, WHY???? This head is perfect. I told him I wanted it done and he did it, but it didnt need it. This is a excellant cylinder head. Otherwise, I would not have used it on my $7000.00 engine rebuild. CALIBER 308 -

And they dont really need any porting and polishing, like some other aftermarket heads. You can install them with your valves and rocker assembly right out of the box CALIBER 308 -

1G Translator & 3" GM MAF installed: Pics & FAQ
Caliber308 replied to Josh '88's topic in Engine and Performance Mods
Its not as simple as that. You will need new hose couplers, Air filter, Wideband 0-2 with a gauge read out (so you can adjust your Translator properly) and a good place to bolt your MAF-T Translator to. Keep it away from heat sources. Then theres adjustments to the Translator. Sure you can run two secondaries. You will just have to do more adjusting to the Translator. Make sure you dont have any problems with your set up now, before installing this system. If you do, you will never get the adjustments to read correctly. Good Luck, CALIBER 308 -
1G Translator & 3" GM MAF installed: Pics & FAQ
Caliber308 replied to Josh '88's topic in Engine and Performance Mods
Its a hit and miss deal. Every cars set up is differant. If you dont have a Wideband O-2, Youll never be able to get the correct settings. Read the instructions. That will give you a starting point. If you run 14.0 at idle, 14.0 at midrange and 12.0 at WOT, Your good to go. CALIBER 308 -
1G Translator & 3" GM MAF installed: Pics & FAQ
Caliber308 replied to Josh '88's topic in Engine and Performance Mods
For you guys running a MAF-T and GM MAF with a BOV, this is the way to go. The hardest part in the installation is cutting the OVC Hardpipe, or you could try to find a hose supplier that will custom make a 2 1/4 X 3 X 3" 45 Degree angle reducer. GOOD LUCK!!!! I was at it for 8 hours last night trying to find one. Appox: $60.00 to $70.00   My car with this set up spools a lot faster to 6000 rpms, with no negative effects. And I thought I was making power with the MAF mounted before the turbo     CALIBER 308
