Over heated motor when electric fans quit last year. Cracked head and split cylinder wall number 2. It gets better....lost house have to move into rental. Do not have the room or means to store it any more. Was going to rebuild it and put in a truck. Opened it up and checked journals. Main journal no.2 has a grove that can catch my fingernail. Bought a recently rebuilt short block. 5 thousand miles on rebuild (claimed), seems clean enuff. Has JE forged pistons. When done and sorted I would like to try possibly up to 20 pounds of boost...with water/methanol injection. With the proper precautions. ...ARP head studs, proper a/f, tune, secondary injection, upgraded ignition.....what should the ring gaps be? opened up to?

Probe requires a 1/8-27 hole/tap to install. Putting it in the exhaust manifold under the turbo is the plan. Has anyone else used this location? Would it make the exhaust manifold prone to crack? It will be stress relived and all casting flash, numbers, and probaly heat sheild mounts removed. Plan on covering it with header/heat wrap. If it isn't a good location, guess downpipe.
