  5. haha, because you live on the wrong side of the country =P on the other hand, i just sold her. Thanks guys, the 2 months has been fun. ill probably stick around here, if nothing else to share stories of my next project (its going to be a fox chassis ford wagon with a 4.6, for sure)
  6. Thanks man, it wasnt actually my idea but it looks a hell of alot better than a cracked red one
  7. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/005.jpg the weld for the flange is still a bit rough but could be easily polished up.
  8. my friend found this, these guys saw Convettes car at the autorama and i guess want to do a feature on it... http://www.stancenation.com/2011/04/14/incredible-starquest/
  9. Earl, thats my friend james' car, we had actually just finished gutting the car and installing a corbeau seat with a 4 point. its a pretty neat car but its kinda sorta slow... Most of the goodies are on the car, the stainless steel lines and such. I wish i had a stock exhaust so i could put that on and sell the 3 inch for what its really worth... but i dont, so thats not happening, other than that i took off the hardpipes and i'm selling those separately... Yeah ill probably get another one eventually, but as you can tell from my garage, i prefer the american stuff, combined with the fact that this car is just too small for me (i can drive it,but in 6'6 and im not the skinniest dude in the world, my knees are up against the knee guards) Corey, thanks but pictures add 1000 hours of dent removal and polishing... I try though.
  10. Not currently at home, ill grab some tonight
  11. I have a set of hard pipes for sale for intercooled cars -*DM Steel Turbo to intercooler pipe -MK1 aluminum aircan-turbo hard pipe -MK1 aluminum OVCP with a Tial 50mm Blow off Valve flange welded on, -Tial 50mm BOV. In order to build this same set it would cost around 400 dollars, give or take. (the pipes themselves would run around 100 bucks or so, and then another 300 just for everything to run the Tial BOV) All of these parts have very little mileage on them and all work fine. they all come with couplers that work, however the aircan-turbo pipe could use new ones in the future, they dont leak however. The ones on the turbo-IC are a little bit big, but sinch down and seal fine. Im selling these separately so i actually get what they are worth out of them. Asking 300 dollars OBO
  12. CAR IS SOLD The car is an Ex-Automatic car, and it has 127,000 miles. It has been converted to 5 speed in part by me and in part by the previous owner. The car is in pretty good shape inside and out. It has its fair share of dents and scratches, but its still pretty clean. The worst bits are the drivers door lock, which has been dented, the front bumper which has some missing paint, and the airdam that is currently stickerbombed due to A: being the wrong color, and B: being damaged. Engine/drivetrain -Brand New NGK spark plugs with fairly new plug wires. -New water pump and radiator hoses. -New O2 sensor. -*DM 3" Turboback exhaust with a stock cat modified to be 3"in and out, with dual 2.5 inch moroso Spiral Flows and dual 3.5 tips -stock clutch out of an 89 conquest, works great. -Stainless steel braided clutch line Suspension/brakes -MK1 Lowering springs and rear gas charged struts, the struts are brand new and the springs were used, but still work fine. -New brake pads (>1000 miles) i turned all 4 rotors at the time so the brakes are good -Stainless steel braided brake lines (110 dollars new) The interior is all stock except for a Hurst Pistol grip shift knob (do not have the stock knob) Overall this is a good car, it runs well, and has no real problems. She burns a bit of oil on startup, but its not a terrible amount. Its fun to drive and runs and boosts well. On a side note, its been less than 90 days since it passed CA smog, but regardless, it passed easily, if it sells soon the buyer shouldnt need to have it smogged. Feel free to PM me for more info and pics My thread with some older pictures, as well as some new ones, and one of the door lock. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/021.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/022.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/023.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/024.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/025.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/026.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/027.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/029.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/031.jpg CAR IS SOLD I am also selling a full set of hardpipes, these are NOT included in the sale of the car. They are a *DM steel Turbo-IC hardpipe, and MK1 Aircan-turbo and an MK1 OVCP with a Tial 50mm Blow off valve. Im asking 300 bucks for the set of pipes that comes with the BOV (its almost brand new, and has very low mileage). or ill sell it with the car for an extra 200.
  13. Hey Guys, im putting my starion up for sale. Let me just say, i did not buy this car to flip it, i just randomly lost interest in it the other day and have decided to pursue another project, In any case, i got an airdam for it, which had seen better days, so me and my friend stickerbombed it, and i also got the interior back together. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/021.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/022.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/023.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/024.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/025.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/026.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/027.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/029.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/BANDGEEK234/031.jpg
  14. If youre rounding to a fixed amount, then dont use a percentage 50-75 hp with a RWD car...
  15. go to a metal shop and get some angle iron, like 5 feet. Drill two holes and bolt it where the driveshaft goes, have a friend hold that while you torque it, if its longer than the torque wrench and your friend isnt a sissy, should hold it fine.
  16. I used the anchor and it appeared fine. Granted, i have an auto car with a manual trans, so i had to cut it apart, but it worked fine
  17. You would probably have better luck searching or starting a new thread, it will get more attention.
  18. Buy it from O'reillys auto parts, the one they stock is fine. However, they dont have an auto mount, just a manual.
  19. thanks for the info indiana, ill go get the right plugs tomorrow. i have some wire looms to throw on there, but the stock ones were in good condition as well, so they shouldnt be arcing...
  20. They are bpr6ey-11 plugs. They are brand new, i got em when i got the car, and the first time it drove was the end if february. Cap and rotor were replaced at the same time. Although i went with the cheaper of the two brands, I BELIEVE the wires are ngk 8mm but id have to check, i got them used from my friend and they appear to be in good condition. What kind if resistance should they have, i can test them. It is a stock 88 running factory boost. She has hard pipes with a tial bov and a 3 inch exhaust with a single cat, but the problem was identical with no cats and the soft pipes As far as the last rebuild, i have no clue. From what i understand it was a low mileage engine swap. It burns a bit of oil on startup as well. But doesnt smoke while running. As far as the misfire. At the .044 in first it started breaking up real bad and in second it acted like a 2 step. With the .040 its almost gone in first and ive had it rev okay on second. But in 4th and 5th on the freeway i cant accelerate past 4000, its not violent but it just wont rev higher, kind of like its out of power
  21. Hey guys. Ive been having this problem recently and was hoping to get some input on probable causes. Every time i get on it, my powerband seems to be limited to about 4000 RPM, where it kind of seems to hit a limiter. If I'm in first gear it usually can go past that, but starts breaking up around 5000. But in 2nd through 5th, i have to shift at 4k because it just wont go past that. It has Brand new NGK plugs, that i had originally gapped at .044, and when i had first driven the car, It was really bad, it actually sounded like a fuel cut. I dropped the gap down to .040 and it Got where it is now. I need to back it down a bit more, but it seems like it may be more than spark blow out at this point. I also replaced the coil last week and that helped a tiny bit, but not a real noticeable difference, and it actually seems a little worse now when its cold. What are the Probable causes for this type of misfire? I already partially suspect the plug gap, and i want to Rebuild my dizzy, However i have also heard that the stock ignition just sucks up high as well. Would i be better off Rebuilding the dist and adding in an Ignition box (probably a 6A or a 6AL, i have a couple lying around.) and then trying to regap the plugs, or is there something else i should look at first? Thanks guys, i appreciate the help.
  22. Mother of god that guy is insane.
  23. Ive got a 3 inch exhaust running through a modified stock replacement cat (ends cut off with 3 inch inlets and outlets) through dual 2.5 Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers through Two 3.5 inch Dual wall beveled tips... looks hawt and sounds good. Ill try and grab a sound clip
