  1. The piece I'm looking for attaches to the bottom of that... Unless I am mistaken.. I thought my last starion had another piece below that. I have wires hanging down that I hit with my shoe.

Hello I need a 1988 temperature control panel(every button must work) uncracked exhaust manifold, 12a turbo in good useable condition(not blown or needing rebuilt) black interior panel that clips in above your feet on drivers side to hide wiring!!! Post pics and price please! I live in Oregon 97502.
  3. Exactly what my 88 is doing. It fires right up sounds good for a second then it gets a terrible idle for about two minutes then evens out. Only when cold though. Any info in appreciated.

  6. Ive noticed recently my vacuume is barely pushing -7hg. So to look for a leak I pulled the vacuume line off the cruise control and applied suction it held briefly before quickly bleeding off, I applied pressure to the lines and it instantly bled off at a weird black valve looking thing in front of the battery, behind headlight. This valve thing has a vacuume line going into it and a vacuume line coming out of it not attached to anything, any idea what this part is and where this vacuume line needs to be attached to? Why is it leaking pressure when I blow into the vacuume line?

  8. It shifts great driving around town but say I'm doing 40 and want to accelerate to 65 getting on the freeway. If it goes into 4 th gear ( due to driving behind someone slow) while just cruising it won't downshift unless I floor it for a few seconds and it accelerates really slow says im making 8lb boost at like 1800 rpm but has absolutly no power at all and won't downshift for like 5 seconds then it will and just take off. Any idea why, is this common? It has a rebuilt tranny. OD is off

So basically I pull the vacuume line off of the vaccume advance and plug the vacuume line, turn the knob on the timing light to zero, adjust distributer until it lines up on 10 BTDC, then tighten down distributer, then reattach vacuume line and it's good? But yes I plan on getting an aftermarket autometer vacuume/boost gauge in the factory location sometime in the near future.
  10. What is the vacuum at idle suppose to be on a healthy engine? I run Right at -7 and when the engine is fully warmed up I idle around 500-600 rpm. When I adjusted timing I rechecked it and it is right in the middle at tdc instead of 10 BTDC, is that bad?
  11. So as in my previous post stated my catalytic converter caught fire, now my car won't start. It cranks but never starts, I'm getting spark, I assume I am getting fuel (don't know how to check pump and don't have mechanical gauge to test pressure). The last two changes I made to the car was a MSD blaster 2 coil, and changed timing from 20* to 10* BTDC. Got on freeway, car started bucking severely, lost all power to motor, pulled over, cat on fire, towed home next day, now it won't start at all. Oh and same night a vacuum line got rubbed in half by a drive belt somehow. Any way those could have blown the head gasket??? I'm checking the cylinder compression on Monday but last check gave me 110-110-110-120
  12. Also, my 88 starion has the vacuum line diagram printed on the bottom side of my hood. Check yours and see if it's printed on it.
  13. I believe that the vacuum advance runs off the number 1 port on the throttle body closest to the firewall.
  14. Cool, fire department was able to put it out, weird because just two hours before I had upgraded my coil to a msd coil and adjusted my timing from 20 deg to 10 deg. It started running weird then everything shut off at 65mph, and lots of smoke no power, my cattitic converter was engulfed in flames called 911... Lame. So... Could any of these Two changes could have caused this?

  16. So all 3 of my fans 2 pulling and 1 pushing are on at all times and my temp never really goes past the first line. Is it bad for them to be on all the time? As in never reaching full operating temp?

Hello I've been noticing that my starion is really really slow around town, and doesn't make boost until around 3k and when it does make boost it doesn't feel "fast, peppy, boosted" or any kind of exciting force of boost. The factory boost gauge says I'm making around 10-11 lbs of boost but I'm assuming that's just the airflow increase instead of boost but what could cause almost no power under boost??? My turbo is really loud and screatches under boost. My car is an 88 automatic all stock. How can you tell if you vacuum advance is bad? I have 10-12 vacuum but how do I find a boost leak and not a vacuum leak?
  18. Yeah I put new belts, new plugs, plug wires, vacuume lines, rebuilt fuel system, seafoamed, oil, coolant, rebuilt tranny... Just ultra slow for some reason. Now what are the symptoms of a boost leak?
  19. But specs say 235tq!!! Mine feels more like a Honda lol I cannot even burnout lol I've tried!

  21. Starting from front to back my compression was 110,110,110,120 how bad is that? It runs nice and smooth just feels like it lacks power. What are the service limits for the cylinder compression?
  22. Looks good for the price! Runs but won't rev sounds a lot like my starion when I forgot to plug in the mass air flow sensor!
  23. Still have turbo? How much shipped to 97502? Any shaft play? Good seals? Can you post pics?
