  2. EDIT: I ripped out the battery from my truck and plugged it into the car. the headlight motors work! along with the dome lights. If there is something you want to know if it works just post and if the wiring will let me ill try. Due to no charge piping or down pipe, i cant start the motor to see if any of those things work. but electrical is fine.

  4. Yes sorry about the pictures. im trying to get some in for you guys. Black leather interior btw. Seats are... in OK condition. Shift boot if memory serves right ((not going to run out there while raining to check)) is actually in great condition.
  5. 4k? thats dirt for this car. In my area on craigslist/autotrader theres cars in worse condition going for 5k. modded and unmodded. Maybe if coke got a better paying job and stop having his buddies try to bully you into thinking its garbage. He would probably say the samething everyone else is. This is a good price for this car.

I will post pictures of the car sometime soon once it stops raining and is nice enough outside to get a few good pictures. WARNING: I havent started this car up so I am unsure if some of the stuff even works. And as i stated earlier theres no harness so i cant exactly plug a battery to it and test it. Side note: If this car has those fins you want on the 1/4 pannel. I really dont mind hacking away at it to ship them off. Car is pretty beat up as is.
  7. I know a 4G63 will bolt up to the 88 Mighty Max transmission, will it also bolt up to an 87 Conquest transmission? If so what years of the 4g63 should i look for? i know for a fact the EVO 9 and 10 motors wont bolt up to the Mighty Max transmission. Or so ive heard. Thanks for your time

  9. LOL. its even more funny when they have to deliver a G54B crate motor w/tranny. I did that to them a few times. 1 B18CR 2 B16 1 G54B 1 2JZ-GTE 2 1jz-GTE 3 or 4 RB20 ... So its just rather funny seeing them either having to pick up or drop off a crate motor
  10. I called Chrysler/Mitsubishi up to see if they had a brake booster for my MM. Figured while i was on the phone id see if they had a distributor for the SQ. Apparently... They have different ones depending if the car came factory with or without an intercooler? Anyone know about this and know what the difference is?

  12. Dizzy is a major must have. Also need both window controls from both sides I am unsure what these do or what they are for... but the plastic/leather/fabric handle covers for the two levers below the arm rest Sorry first Starquest ive owned, couldnt pass up a $400 Conquest with one of my favorite motors in it
  13. Simply put. I hate MAF. On a second note. MAFs are expensive pieces of plastic/metal. Id rather spend 1300 on a standalone ECU and tuning than 400-700 bucks on a MAF depending where you get it around here and worry about when it'll go bad. which btw is not including the price of the MAF-T. On top of that... with a standalone you can do some serious mods which is what i was looking at doing, the motor needs to be rebuilt so i figured screew it ill just build it. My question for you now Scotty.... Why are you so into MAF over MAP?
  14. uppon searching the box of random parts the guy gave me with the car. i found a rather huge MAF sensor. Unsure what it is but ill get a picture soon in hopes someone knows. and what seems to be a MAF-T. While this is great that i can use a more common MAF.... Id still like a MAP. so unless a MAF-T translates a MAF signal to a MAP.. that doesnt do me much good.
  15. I know you need a upgraded ECU. My question is which ECU? I am unsure if AEM sells their stand alone for the starquests. is there another company out there that supplies ECU/ECMs for these cars?

  18. Not really a question more of a "wt...." moment i have been having. Called Mitsubishi: Starquest is MAF Called Chrysler: Starquest is MAF Called Oreily parts: MAP Autozone: MAP Google sites: MAP Pictures: MAF/MAP Just starting to get annoyed as to what exactly it is. I see pictures of both with a MAF and without a MAF... Does it range depending on the year/Trim level? I didnt think it did... but maybe? figured you guys would know more than anything.

Im not too worried about getting a bigger turbo. its more along the lines of im thinking this turbo isnt all that great. its got a little play in it. and i havent started up the car due to lack of charge piping. and what intake manifold is that? 2 injector set up? or 4? i know the one i got is the standard OEM 2 point injector set up that has an upright throttlebody. Thanks shelby. John Edit: Im not seeing the MAF on the second Red Max. Going to assume its a decently modded one converted to MAP?
  20. I recently today bought an 87 conquest TSI for 300$. all thats missing is the charge piping and some random misc interior bits. Has anyone converted their Carbed g54b to Turbo? If so, how did you go about doing it? If there is already a post like this sorry, just post it on here and ill attempt to delete this topic. Edit: Side question. The turbo seems rather iffy... What turbos work with the stock ECU/injectors if i need to find one? I have a few friends who mess around with EVOs and GST/GSX/Talons so i know they have spare turbos sitting around i could buy off them.

  23. I am super interested in the MAF, greddy timer, Boost controller. I dont get paid for another 2 weeks... So itll have to wait till then. But ill for sure buy the greddy/TurboXS items. Does the controller come with all the wiring/tubing? And the MAF... I wouldnt need to do any modifing my 87conquest to use it would i? Edit: On the charge piping... Newish couplers? or factory. And do you have a slot installed for an aftermarket BOV? if so what company?
  24. First off... Yes I dont have a Starquest, well... i DO but this isnt where the problem is comming from. I love the g54b motor, so I bought an 88 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with it in it. This one is the Carb'ed version though. Break down: 88 2.6l Mighty Max 36/36 Weber carb Eletric Fuel pump upgrade Pacesetter Headers Custom full 3 inch exhaust Motor it self has been rebuilt from oil pan up Included was a brand new head with all new internals new alternator new oil pump new timing chain w/kit new dizzy new rotors/pads/calipers all 4 corners Bored out intake manifold for bigger carb Think thats about all you need to know? If not ill post what is needed. Problem: (actually problem"s") First braking- When at idle it doesnt stall or die at all when brakes are pressed regardless how firm or soft. I have to be moving. For example: When i have to hit the brakes to stop at a stop sign the RPM will drop about 300 to 500 which usually brings it below 500 RPMs and the motor dies. Some times it takes a good 10 minutes to start it up again after it dies this way. Things ive done to single it out: Removed the Brake booster hose and cleaned it out, checked for cracks or leaks in the hose, removed the valve and blown into both ends, only one side lets air pass which is under good operation procedure(sp). I have taken it to the mechine shop that rebuilt the motor and asked if he might know, funny thing when i took it to him. It died at his entrance since i had to brake to turn. He said from a distance it sounded like the motor flooded it self with fuel. So the Carb's fuel floats might not be set right. But he hasnt run into this problem before at least on this motor/truck. I dont want to go out and buy hundreds of dollars worth of parts to try and find out whats going on. Just need to single it out and just fix that. and... This: Problem with idle it self: The idle is pretty random, some times its 1600, then 1200, then 900, then 600. We think we singled this problem out today. Seems its the throttle cable it self. If it idles high, we pulled back on the pedal and the RPM drops to where we set it at 860ish. But after running it around town and constantly doing that. It slowly started to not work anymore unless we tug harder on the pedal. Sorry i am kind of long winded, but with cars the more info you give the better it is to figure out the problem. Specially online. Thank you all for your help! John
