  1. Nope, went with the car that just sold a couple weeks ago. It is still in the exact same location. I'll try to renege to get some pictures and post them up.
  2. About $80 due to the size and weight. If you're seriously interested, I can get a picture for you with the valve cover off.
  3. Still for sale. Make me an offer. I want this gone before the snow starts to pile up.
  4. Sorry for the delays everyone. I apparently don't have notifications turned out and I haven't been on here since I posted. I have replied to all the PMs. Heat shield would probably be $25 shipped to NC. Regarding the manifold, what you see is what you get. One of you PMed me about it. I have to check on the injectors and follow up. I do not remember seeing them.
  5. Here are some parts that are left over from the G54B that came out of my 87 Starion. I have no use for any of it. All prices are obo. Located near Saginaw, MI. Cash and local pickup are prefered, but will take paypal or a check and ship at buyer's expense. Block and crank $50 Complete cylinder head $50 Both have been outside for a year. Probably salvageable. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0387_zps70fcedcd.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0388_zps3044f3fe.jpg Dstributor $25 http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0391_zps696b0847.jpg Exhaust manifold with turbo. 6. Updated pricing so I can sell the block seperate. Scoop this up and save it.
  7. I have a virgin block that's been outside for a couple years. Oughta cleanup fine. I'll be in the Cumberland Plateau area in November, I can bring the block with me if you're interested. $100?
  8. Crap... you're right. Don't know why I've been calling it an 86. Thanks.
  9. Just copied the layout from the sticky and filled it in. I will sell the 4G64 seperate. Shipping alone will be close to $200 though. I shipped a KA24DE block last fall and it was about $150 through UPS. A loaded block might require freight...
  10. LOCATION: Saginaw, MI SHIPPING: No PICTURES: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0382_zpsb47aee01.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0376_zpsdd411456.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0380_zps0c8568fb.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN0383_zps711895ea.jpg MILEAGE: 134,143 PRICE: $750 RUNS: No MANUAL/AUTOMATIC: Manual ENGINE MODS: none NON-FUNCTIONAL PARTS/FEATURES OR PROBLEMS: Oringinal drivetrain removed and tore down. 4G64 wideblock with 4G63 head was the plan. RUST?: Front right fender at the bottom OPTIONS: Tsi - cruise, A/C, power windows and locks, no sunroof, staggered wheels. DESCRIPTION: Up for sale is my 1987 Mitsubishi Starion Tsi. I purchased the vehicle as a back-burner project with intentions of building a 4G64/4G63 for it. I don't know when I'll actually get around to working on this project, so it would just sit here and rot waiting for me to make it a priority. I might as well get rid of it while it's still useable to someone with the time and money to dedicate to it. I will most likely end up regretting this, but for the short term, it's better this way. The previous owner removed the original G54B and disassembled it. Everything sat for years. I inherited the engine when I bought this car, and I still have most of the parts for the engine. However, the block and head have been sitting out in my scrap pile for the last few years. It's probably salvageable if you really wanted to go that route. If you want any of those parts, you're welcome to them.* If you're interested, I will sell the wideblock 4G64 that I bought for the Starion. It is a 2.4L from a Mitsubishi Mighty Max and it still has its original rotating assembly in tact. This version of this engine will bolt up to the Starion's transmission and into the engine bay using the Mighty Max motor mounts (also included). I have a bucket of accessory parts that I took off of it when I brought it home that I will include. Add a set of custom pistons and some machine work, and you can finish this off with a 4G63 DOHC cylinder head to create the engine that this car should have came with from Japan. $250 and it goes with you and your new Starion. This Starion is equipped with a 5-speed transmission and has 134,143 miles on the odometer. It has power windows and locks, limited slip differential, A/C, and cruise control. The interior is rough but all the pieces are there. The front air dam is wrecked, and is a common problem - not difficult to find, just a bit pricey. There is one rust hole in the front right fender and a dent in the left rocker. Other than those issues, the car is in great shape for its age and considering how long it has been sitting. When the tires are aired up, it still rolls around with minimal effort. Asking $750 for the shell and $250 for the wideblock. I want it all gone. I am NOT interested in any trades and I will NOT facilitate the shipment of this vehicle. You will need a dolly or a trailer. PREFERRED CONTACT METHOD: email: fat_kid_racing@yahoo.com
  11. [shrugs] I don't know... $100 - come and get it.
  12. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=118533 I'm in Michigan.
  13. I'd be willing to get in on this. Just posted a nearly complete G54B for sale: http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=118533 Parts I could use: Front air dam License plate bezel Interior stuff Parts for 4G64 swap
  14. I have a nearly complete G54B that I have absolutely no use for whatsoever. This engine came with the 87 that I bought last summer. It was pulled from the car and had been sitting in the guys barn for at least a couple years. The head, oil pan, front cover were all removed and the rods and pistons are out. It's all still here; but like I said, the previous owner tore it down. I believe it had a spun bearing or something. Anything still sitting around this fall is going to scrap. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/pats%20fo%20sale/DSCN7694.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/pats%20fo%20sale/DSCN7693.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/pats%20fo%20sale/DSCN7696.jpg Radiator and fans are not included. I have no idea what this stuff goes for so $300 takes everything. Willing to take offers on individual parts or the whole thing. I still have the exhaust manifold and intake manifold in the trunk of the car. I didn't get pictures because it's still covered in snow. If anyone is interested in those as well, I can get pictures.
  15. Starion is on the back burner. Always looking for parts though...
  16. So I got a chance to get some pictures uploaded. Really not anything special. Here's the exterior: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7288.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7289.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7290.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7293.jpg That last one is the rust hole in the fender. Yes, there's moss in there... Like I said, it's been sitting for a while. Mileage: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7291.jpg Engine bay: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7292.jpg The raccoon hotel, I mean.. the interior: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7287.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/DSCN7295.jpg So there she is in all her run-down glory. In resonponse to whoever was asking about how it was running on the DOHC 2.4, it's not. That's the plan. It's not happening any time soon either. But as was stated, the 2.4's usually run just fine without the squirters... Once again, thanks for the warm welcomes. My wife is bugging me to use the computer, so I'll come back on later and post some pictures of some of the other projects.
  17. Here's a link to the photobucket album I made for my Starion. I'm about to fall asleep posting this, so i'll come back later and put img tags on them and explain a bit. http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f197/fat_kid_racing/Starion/
  18. You kind of need to do this if you're a real enthusiast. No one in their right financial mind would participate in such a financially irresponsible endeavor. The biggest reason this is a back-burner project is that I'm just getting started on building a Group 2 rally car with my Red 92 Colt. Haven't gotten very far due to some house things that came up (thanks insurance inspector guy!) that needed attention first. This winter though, I'm hoping to really get cracking on it. The other setback, my wife decided she wanted to paint her Silvia-faced S13 convertible... Almost out of the blue. She grabbed the orbital sander and went to town. I don't think she realizes what she's gotten us into. So, yeah... I'm familiar with the cost of this lifestyle. It's definitely not easy, but that's why there's support groups (car clubs) for this kind of thing. Thanks for all the warm welcomes.
  19. Where exactly in North East Indiana are you located? I might be interested in picking up some parts if they're still available in a week or so.
  20. Hello StarQuest Club! I couldn't find a designated "New guys post here" section or forum, so I figured this is a good place to introduce myself. Staff, my apologies if this is not in the correct sub-forum. I'm Dexter - I'm addicted to Japanese cars. I just picked up an 87 Starion Turbo (not sure of the trim designation...) this past weekend. I've come here in search of parts and information (probably like most of the people here). Hopefully I can help contribute some general automotive and Mitsubishi knowledge. A little bit about me... My first real car that I bought on my own was a 92 Plymouth Laser RS (NA 4G63) back in 2002. Little did I know, that was me falling down the rabbit hole. Since then I've had my hand in at least a dozen DSMs, a couple CSMs, and now this Starion. I'd consider myself pretty knowledgeable in the Sirius motor family as well. My FR experiences have come courtesy of Japan as well. I've owned a few S13s including 2 convertible 240s and had my hand in about half a dozen other s13s. I also helped a friend do up a couple rotary-powered FC RX7s. I've pretty much taught myself everything I know about cars over the last 8-10 years. Originally, it was because I was poor and a tight wad, but now I'm not as poor but I'm still a tight wad so I do all my own work. It has evolved from a situation of having to learn how to do something so I could drive my car to college into a passionate love affair with Japanese cars. I really love my Nissans and Mitsubishis. So, enough about me, let's talk about this Starion. Like I said, it was a turbo car that came with a G54B and LSD (assuming since it has the orange sticker in the door panel) and a solid roof. I haven't really dug into the car at all, but it's really clean from other StarQuests I've seen. The only rusty spot is on the bottom of the passenger front fender behind the wheel. The front air dam is cracked up pretty bad and missing pieces too. As it sits right now, there is no driveline in the car. The previous owner spun a bearing, pulled the engine, trans, and part of the interior apart and then left it sit for 3-4 years. There was a raccoon or some other critter that turned the Starion into its own private outhouse. So the interior is pretty smelly and dirty. The car belonged to a friend of a friend. My buddy told me about it and it was too good of an offer to pass up. I went to look at the car and it was in REALLY good shape. I wasn't really in the market for a Starion as I have been eye-balling an S14. But the price was so low and the car was so nice... I just had to pick it up. The plans right now are to just tuck it away in the back of my shop (it's just a 24x48x12 polebarn that I refer to as "the lab" or "my shop") and have it be a back burner project. I'll pick up parts for the Starion when I find good deals or parts that I need. I eventually want to do a wideblock 2.4L DOHC turbo engine in the Starion and run it with DSMlink. Should be a fun car someday. I would post pictures, buy my internet has been SUPER slow lately, not sure what the deal is. After I get a chance to upload some pictures, I'll come back and post them. There's really not much to see, but I know how people like to see car pictures from new people.
