lift car and have someone hold the brake while in gear and search for said tick. could be any number of things. look for something look tapping against engine or trans. might be a loose bracket or maybe as much as dust cover on front of trans is loose. a flywheel or converter loose would be pretty loud.

not to mention your going to have a hell of a step on your wheel lip going from 16 to 17 or even worse if going to 18's.

don't use the remote amp lead, it will burn it up. or maybe I'm thinking using the antenna lead for amps..?

get it warm, go about 45/50 and hit the o/d switch on the shifter and see if the RPM's change, then going about 45/50 put the pedal completely to the floor (may have to try to go thru the floor with it) and see if it downshifts and hauls tail, this will tell me a little bit more.

how does it drive once it gets going? O/D seem fine? shift thru gears fine?

have you checked for hidden LSD then?

what are your rpms at 45mph and at let's say 60mph? if you turn the ignition to "ON" but leave the car not running and have someone cycle the o/d switch on the shifter while your underneath by the trans do you hear the O/D override solenoid click? also have someone put the pedal the whole way down and verify the kickdown solenoid clicks as well.

tempting, is it just three wires to connect? or plug and play wiring?
