I believe so, disconnect cable from wiring above bellhousing, unscrew solenoid, test with battery for a clicking, change o-rings, put back in trans, make sure trans has good ground wire on tail housing.

any transtar or daaco transmission parts store should be able to get you anything you need. And I am willing to bet they are much closer than you think... I had no problem rebuilding mine. also, steels are not a wearable item. they are not "required" to be replaced. so don't run out buying a "master set". they do go bad.. but not normally. find a trans shop that knows what they are doing first. that trans is in thousands of cars and pickups in the U.S. apparently that shop just doesn't know enough.

I threw up examples of body styles, don't go off what I posted, I looked at the 750 and it was $2k with the V12, but just as any good deal it went super fast. they are normally $4-7k depending on condition, and whoever is charging $6k for a transmission rebuild is hopefully giving a reach around with that service.. unless it's the dealer, which is close to about right. a V12 engine is about that price new from BMW.

KBB is a joke, a 2001 750i, yes "V12" was selling here locally for $2k a few weeks ago, 740's are around 4-5k in good shape.

that is waaaay too high, I'm looking at getting another BMW myself so I know they are going for much less than that. I'm looking at either a 7 series or an X5
