  1. to add to the thread, exactly which ground is the wiper motor ground? is it number 10?
  2. follow the link, the wiper arm pivots freeze up and will eventually burn the motor
  3. higher rate valve springs aren't always better. the cam has to be rated for the spring or you will lose the lobes on the cam. I have seen this happen. And funny cars run steel retainers and locks just fine on much more power and RPM, fancier is only more expensive, not always worth the price.
  4. is the secondary air cleaner delete hole in the downpipe a suitable location for an EGT?
  5. any other sets available?
  6. snap ring pliers, inch pound torque wrench. as low as down to 60inch pound. scribe, and the tech manual. the hardest thing is the piston compressor to do the piston seals. and pls don't use "rebuilt" bands, they are worthless.
  7. definitely the etacs, no need to troubleshoot
  8. running, much left to do..
  9. the IHC is a probably a company marker. It melts and falls off voiding your warranty if you overheat the head. polishing the combustion chamber will help, but not as much as polishing the runners or valve bowls would.
  10. to add to the conversation: when you say right after the turbo, are you referring to the hole left from the EGR delete? was thinking of using that hole for an EGT or wideband later on, but thought it might be too close, opinions?
  11. obviously, so go do laps in a spirited manner until it does.
  12. be wary with sites that pop up like that, I ordered something once and after two weeks I called to see what happened.. they were a middleman resale agency and didn't keep good updated records, turns out part was on backorder from their supplier with no expected arrival date and they couldn't even let me know!
  13. lessons learned from overhauling the L4N71B: 1.torque converter is a pain to attach to engine, bushing is a very tight fit, try to pull it in from two opposite converter bolts to draw it to the engine. 2.bellhousing bolts are: 2 long at bottom, 2 short at top, mismatched ones go in starter with longer one going in top of starter. 3.If elbow to vacuum modulator is dry rotted/cracked, autozone and advance have "Chrysler vacuum elbow" in "help!" parts section that works great except you have to trim to fit. 4.Dacco's overhaul kit didn't come with the speedo O-ring, was missing a Low/Reverse clutch, had an extra forward clutch friction, and a buttload of extra o-rings. 5.O/D drum sprag spins in same direction as low/reverse sprag to the right and not the left. 6.OD clutch pack retainer goes under sprag and extremely thin steel holds sprag in place. (as per updated tech manual) Took me a bit getting the questions worked out, but my transmission smooths so smooth and instant you almost can't feel it!
  14. although the part your are referencing looks different than what is on my 88.. it should have three phillips screws holding it into the speedo.
  15. the reed switch is very easy to change, just need a phillips for the pickup, first set of plastic teeth come out by hand, and a small hammer and drift punch to switch speedo head and/or shaft with secondary plastic teeth.
  16. also remember that rotors are packaged in a film of oil to prevent rust, this is why you need to clean off with brake cleaner before installing. if pads are good, and tires are hard to spin when off the ground it sounds like your calipers are sticking and not retracting. If you didn't change the brake lines I'd say they are bad and need replacing. I did the ones on my car when I got the car. Every last one of the 8 of them was dry rotted and cracked up bad.
  17. sounds like your battery connections are bad. if they are good then you should just follow the wire and you will see the fusible links.
  18. just noticed the drop in the pic. check ball joints, if the car bottoms out alot the may wear out causing this type of issue. again, it happened to me, on another car tho.
  19. um, there is no electricity to them. did you check fuses? relays? blinker fluid level?
  20. idler arm on passenger side.. happened to me.
  21. you really told us alot about it.. how about.. does it have cats? is it stock? how much boost does it make? does it have a muffler? is it blue? does it have new paint? every little bit helps ya know..
