I just pulled stuff off this car last weekend, there was a title transfer receipt in the trunk for Oct 2011. A litlte rust ?? ..... you didn't look very closely at your car dude ... the floor pans on both sides were looking to daylight. Wasn't too much left mechanically til I stumbled across it, but there were some nice interior pieces. The, motor, trans and the suspension were gone, I grabbed the steering wheel for a car I'm selling to coldscrip, Very nice valour interior, but I left it. Somebody had taken a sawzall to the dash ... not sure why. Kinda a shame b/c it looked like a nice black dash. That was the status as of last weekend ....

I considered buying this car as well, I actually went to look at. Very nice paint on the car and the best sunroof gasket I've ever seen, and as you mention, a near perfect interior. Shame about the R-title. GLWS.

lol .... Believe me, that thought crossed my mind, but I'm a pretty honest guy, and I hate to ruin a perfectly good windshield when I know they don't make them anymore. I figured maybe someone would need one and we can help each other out.

There's a cost for the windshield and a cost for them removing it. Probably when it's said and done 100 to 125 bucks. Whatever they charge me is the cost. I'm not trying to make any money off it, I just don't need it. I got to see it on Sat, it's perfect.

Here's the deal, my local yard has a Quest with a perfect roof I'd like to buy for my car that got crushed by the tree. Catch is, if I want the roof I have to buy the windshield b/c they have to remove it order for me to cut the roof off. I didn't list this in the F/S section b/c I don't exactly "have" the windshield just yet ... but, I figure if I can get a local taker (sorry I don't feel like shipping a windshield) I might go up over Thanksgiving and get the roof and glass. p/m me if you're interested.

Now that's thinking ^^^. If you had the startup money and know-how, that would be genius. Back to Mitsu for a second, I also read earlier this year in one of my car magazines that Mitsu had announced they were getting out of motorsports all together. Supposedly their new guru is taking the company a completely different direction. I don't own a car company, but I'm thinking ... really? Almost every car company has an icon sports car. I guess we're all just supposed to be happy w/ green get-a-round cars.

Yeah, he is talking about the demo tape. It was always my impression that that was a Chrysler thing, I didn't think Starion's came w/ demo tapes, but I could be wrong. Somebody on this board knows the answer to that I'm sure. I remember my parents brand new 1991 Caravan came w/ one of those cassette tapes from the dealer and it had the Top Gun theme song on it. We used to blare that thing ... we thought it was the coolest .... at the time Memories ... lol.

Well, yesterday I completed a leak down test and was able to confirm there is blow-by on all the cylinders. I can even feel it coming out the exhaust on 2 of the cylinders. Bad. But, I made another discovery as well, which is even more revealing. When I started pumping air into cylinder #2 I got sprayed w/ coolant from cylinder #1 spark plug hole. Bonus, I also have a blown headgasket between 1 & 2, which lends some explanation as to why it wouldn't start. Anyway, I'm not really too upset b/c I was going to pull this motor over Christmas and rebuild anyhow, it's just that now I have to pull the motor, and I'm going to have to go get the rollback from the shop. I started collecting a few parts a little while back. I have a balance shaft elimination kit, arp head studs, and Felpro upper and lower gasket sets. I want to order a jet valve elimination kit from DAD too. And I guess I'll wait until the motor is out to buy rings, just in case it needs to be bored over. I guess this will be the final update on this thread. When I get to pulling the motor I'll probably start a rebuild thread in the restoration center or something like that. Thanks for the input along the way.
