re-post I posted this a few months back. I have seen this car in person very clean car but highly over priced just like everything else if u look at his show room of collector cars has many muscle cars priced $50,000 on up for cars that are obvious restorations and not " factory correct " or "original" as stated. many having body filler quarter panels and or poorly hung replacement quarters.

i am with mk1 struts and they rub under hard acceleration but they fit nicely.

My wifes uncle has given me a opportunity to buy into his asset recovery business. I have worked with him part time for 4 years, with very good luck at it. It will cost me $13,000 to buy in. For that I get a 06 ford F350 crew cab wrecker with the 6.0L PS with 246,000 on it. truck is equipped with a sneaker lift and a warn 18,lb winch. I'd Have a 150 mile radius to cover. I will be paid $50-$75 per car recovered and 25% of profits at the end of the year. But here is the catch 3 year non compete agreement if I take the truck and leave, $6,800 per year for insurance on the truck. Its a LLC company he makes $50,000-150,000 per year. But his business has been slow this year, has only made $12,000 so far this year. I will not be leaving my current full time employment, I will only be doing this part time. Unless it gets consistently busy enuf to pay me more than my current job. I am having trouble pulling the trigger on this deal. I'm thinking it might be worth it just for the truck. Just looking to get some input on this.

update after talking with my attorney and landlord we came to an agreement on the housing situation. They have decided to let me buy the house. so great deal for me there but the truck is another story . the kid that hit it has more judgements and wage garnishments than i have ever heard of .I have filed all of my paper work to sue him. But i dont plan on seeing any money anytime soon. as for uninsured motorist coverage it wont cover the truck, but it does cover all of the medical bills for the uninsured driver. so i may endup selling or trading the quest to get a replacement truck

I never even thought about uninsured motorist coverage. I will be calling my insurance agent in the morning.then calling my attorney on both matters. Thanks for the help guys

So I woke up early today to a phone call from my landlord. He asks if I can meet with him today so we setup a time. I meet with him and he tells me I need to be out my may 10th because they are selling the house. Mind you I have rented this house since june of 03. Already has someone lined up to buy it so that's not an option. I leave his office and get a phone call from my buddy's wife. She is freaking out crying and tells me that chris (my buddy) got into a accident with my truck. That he is at the hospital and they won't tell her anything. So I head up there and he is fine a black eye and bruised ribs but he is ok. My truck on the other hand is totaled. Some 18 year old kid in a 3500 chevy ran a red light and t-boned my truck then my truck hit the stoplight evidently. On top of everything the kid has no insurance and I don't have full coverage so I'm out a truck with no compensation. And I have 31 days to find a place to live and a replacement truck to move with. So if anyone wants to trade there truck for my quest I will be posting it and all info in the next few days.

also the new "pressure regulator" sucks!!! on my jeep its also the fuel filter wt... think im crazy advance auto Part No. 23079 as for the sock setup my jeep has 2 one inside the assembly advance Part No. FS220 and one that sucks from the bottom of the tank. Part No. FS221. my guess was it was sucking the inside dry or low and grabing air but im probly wrong. the other thing that I've found is the plastic hose cracks and sprays fuel in the tank resulting in a low or no pressure condition.

I've been after a set of louvers for 3 years, I would definately be down for a set, if price is within reason.

That montero has had oil changes every 2500-3000 miles since we bought it in 04 with 25,000 on it. with mobile 1 oil and usually a purolator filter. My local Advance auto didnt have a purolator on hand, so i bought a fram. I will be the first to admit that yes i drive hard! But i havent drove the montero more than 20 miles in the last 4 years. It is my wifes suv not mine. I used to run fram on everything i owned, but since i rebuilt the motor in my truck i've been running royal purple and a k&n filter. As for the quest I've been running a wix ever since I've owned it. not saying that fram is all bad just stating that i have had problems with them. just like every other company out there, there is bound to be atleast one bad product in a production run. I understand that it happens. BTW that thing has been gutless from day 1. mostly due to the facts that it weighs 4,200lbs is awd and the 6g72 is only rated at 173hp@5250rpm 188lbs-ft@4000rpm

i changed oil on the wifes 02 montero put a fram on it, 2 days later oil light started flickering and lifters started making noise. Changed the filter out with a wix, light stopped flickering and no more noise. That was the last fram i will ever buy!! btw i checked oil pressure its 20psi@ 900RPM and 60psi@ 3000RPM now. I was kinda hoping that the 6g72 was finally dead so i could swap in a vortec 350/4l80e,Cuz I'm getting sick of 16mpg and NO power. This thing can bearly pull its self up a desent hill,Its only got 80k on it. hmm maybe someday i can get it done

i bid on a "mistery box" on ebay with just one pic looking inside the box. i got it for $35 and it had a throttle body 6 injectors, a 89 ecu, seat belt control box, 89 ignitor, distributor and all of the wiring plugs chopped off the car included (i still dont understand why ppl cant unplug things). so with a pic of the box open looking down on its contents then yes lol

I am interested in both patch panels and a air dam. I was gonna check into fiberglass doors and fenders, but thats only to lighten my drag quest up, while keeping it looking stock.

i have had my 98 chevy 1500 for 150,000 miles of its current 220,000 mile life. i put 1 fuel pump in it and regular oil changes, yearly tune ups, i drive the truck HARD. It reglarly pulls my 3,000lb 20ft car trailer with no problems. by far the most reliable vehical i have ever owned! everyone is always talking crap about the 5.7l vortec and i have yet to have any problems out of mine. i do have a odd truck tho it has the 14 bolt rearend and a 4l80e trans. (most have the 10 bolt and 4l60e) ihave and always will be a gm truck guy!! i have owned countless grand prixs and luminas of verious years from 84-01 had a few problematic ones but never had an unreliable one. have had 4 cutlass ceiras with no problems. owned 2 ford escorts a 91gt with 1.8l couldn't keep a head gasket in it for more than 6-7,000 miles and a 97 4door lx sport with the 2.0 and a 5speed i couldn't keep a transmission in it and it never made it out of warrenty b4 i got rid of it with 37,000 on it!! i currently have a 01 montero sport with 120,000 on it that has more problems than any gm i have ever owned. also have a 97 wrangler and a 94 grand cherokee both verry reliable. and my 89 quest that is as reliable as far as a quest goes lmao but it might just end up with a gm powerplant yet.

what year is you're car because my 89 did this same thing 2 weeks after i got it. chased wires and spent a lot of time trouble shooting and spending money, turned out my igniter was bad. if u have a friend crank it over while checking for spark on the #1 pug wire does it spark weak then fade to nothing? because that is the way mine was. Btw i hope u like to read and like you're computer because u can count on spending hours researching a problem, only to find its something small. but dont give up on it cuz it is worth it in the end!! i got my car out of a barn where it sat for 7years because the ecu was bad. i have had a few problems but nothing a little reading on here and asking a few questions couldnt get fixed.
