I have a black car and have been thinking of trying this. I have some spare rims and just bought a powder coat gun. I thought about making the spoke and outer lip portion white with the insets and in between the spokes (basically all the gray portion) black. Anyone ever do this? Might have to try to photo shop one. Or maybe the gray inset white and the polished spokes and lips black? Hmmm...................

I would like to know this as well. I took my cable assembly off when I removed the transmission and it looks like it is a orange RTV gasket? I took the whole assembly out, not just the cable. Anyone?

What funny is that the guy told me he bought the car for $50. I highly doubt I will hear from them again. The guys mom that called me said that a friend was a highway patol man. (like I was shaking in my boots) I think they just thought I might fold and just let them have the car. Sorry suckers. I have been around enough to know my rights.

I don't have a bill of sale but keep in mind that this has been over 7+ years that this guy had this car. I would think he would have reported it stolen a LONG time ago.

I can see that happening, but in this case, the guy that says the car is his, NEVER NEVER truly owned it, paperwise anyway.

That is what I was thinking. Not my fault the dumba** never got the title. I did everything I need to do, LEGALLY Title in hand, just waiting to WHIP it out!!! (the title that is )

Ok, I purchased a 89 conquest from guy that told me he got it from a guy that had it sitting on his farm for 6+ years. Needless to say he didn't have the title. I was a little hesitant because of this but thought what the heck as I was going to use it for parts anyway. After I got it home and drove it a bit I decided to try and locate a title and register it. I went through the DMV and found the last registered owner. (it had been over 7 years since it had been registered by the way). I got the information from the DMV and got a hold of the last owner. His dad actually had the title at this body shop and he signed it over to me. I currently have the title in MY NAME. Out of the blue, a guy knocked on my door today and said that it was his car. Supposedly he bought it from the guy that registered it last and never got the title from him because he didn't have it at the time. Not too sure what happened after that. The mom of the guy that stopped called the guy that signed over the title to me and got a signed statement from him saying that he didn't sell it to me. When I talked to her on the phone I told her that the car has never been reported stolen, abandoned etc, so I didn't think much of it. The car has never been in their name but she said they were going to report it stolen today. How the hell can you do that after I have already had the title transfered to my name? I told her until I see a court order telling me to do anything, the car is MINE. Your guys thougths on this?

Up for sale again 89 TSI bought for parts. 123K on the clock. Was running good however I truly never put a lot of mileage on it to tell if it was using/leaking any oil. I would recommend rebuilding the engine. The transmission is bad. Leaks fluid from front seal. I did replace it but still leaks. No front dam. All other body parts are there. Front fenders have been replaced with flattys. I have been selling some parts already. Here are some parts that are NOT there: (that I can think of off the top of my head) Oil cooler lines, driver window track, driver power window switch. intake sensors, injectors, knock box. door locks. rear calipers. Has pretty good wheels, decent interior, (burgandy). All drive train is there. Turbo is there. Seems to be no shaft play. I need to get this car out of my driveway as I have no place to store it. I know I will get crucified for this but can someone tell me where the knock box is located? Is this the one screwed to the side of the block under the exhaust manifold?

When you say plenty of gas do you mean in the tank or you are getting gas to the injectors? My guess would be frozen gas line. Might be water in your gas.Try to get it in a garage and warm that car up. I beat it will start then. I have had that issue before with other cars. Just my .02
