  1. yes, 3M makes a VHB tape made specifically for glass, which is available clear or gray and its tough to remove. There are several temperature ranges available. Call and ask for a sample and you will get enough to use for your louver application.
  2. LOL No, not really. I'll see what I can do to get there. It's not likely, though.
  3. Anyone in the OK, TX area with one for sale?
  4. so, are you a buyer for my set or are you going to pass?
  5. Cool headliner and stereo setup. Looking forward to the finished product.
  6. Sorry, man. I didn't know. I've been there a few times myself. You have to be careful not to flare out the rear quarters too far, especially the drivers side. The gas filler is welded to the inner fender and only bonded to the outer skin.
  7. great job on the brake kit! I'll be building a set soon. Thanks for getting the hardest part done for the rest of us.
  8. here are my struts with a slight modification. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0376.jpg
  9. here is my bumper and spoiler repainted. cost was $300 for paint and clear. for a quart of each. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0374.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0373.jpg
  10. Painted!!! http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0372.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0369.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0371.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/IMG_0370.jpg
  11. Eastwood sells a fender roller tool. Might be your best option.
  12. I have a full set that are in fair shape.
  13. Looks awesome! I couldn't see the pics until now. The hood looks incredible also.
  14. Can you widen the outside as well as the inside of a wheel? Aluminum of course.
  15. Primed, Mounted and ready for color. Plan to have it done by Saturday. http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Spoiler006.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Spoiler005.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l543/autotr8er/Rear%20Spoiler/Spoiler007.jpg The spoiler uses most of the mounting points of the original spoiler. I did fill the hole seen here. Just my opinion, I feel you should have prior training before anyone paints one of these cars. I'm just sayin'... There are 5 layers of paint on this car and not once did they take the trim, spoilers or other easy parts off the car. Just mask and shoot. Hacks are everywhere, man. The gap you see between the spoiler and the deck is intentional, I'll have sealant there.
  16. Burton, once again, I am indebted to you for your expertise. Thank you!
  17. For the price of a steering wheel you can have these seats. $40. And yes buyer will pay the shipping costs. pm me if you are a buyer and we can figure out the best way to ship.
  18. I would love to follow the guidelines! It also states you cannot comment on someones asking price either, yet people still do. I messaged one of the moderators to remove their posts and they did not comply. I try to sell these things at what I think is a fair price and people "cry" and if I put too low of a price and people think something is wrong because it's too cheap and they want more photos, clearly knowing they aren't buyers. Also, there are folks like you who want to merely make comments in the open forum to show the world how much they know. The post I really enjoy are the "feeler" threads. What is the difference between them and this post. Here I am clearly intending for someone to get these seats at a fair price, of which I have no clue, according to some of my fellow members. I'm not putting out a market analysis study with a "feeler" post. I'm really trying to be fair for anyone wanting to get moving on keeping their cars on the road, or upgrading their cars. I've been a lurker for years (I was previously autotr8er) and I'm finally able to make a contribution to the Starquest cause and it's the few that make it so frustrating for the rest of us. Seriously, Family members, none of us are perfect and we should keep one goal in mind; we are here to support each other to share the dream of keeping these cars on the road for as long as possible. None of us could have kept our cars this long without this forum. I owned a Conquest in the early 90's and couldn't afford to keep it running, regretted selling it and just purchased another last year. This is by far the best and friendliest forum out there. I appreciate all of you who contribute, I couldn't have gone this far without you and I'm looking forward to sharing more with everyone in the future. Thanks to all of you again, to the forum and the owners of this forum, God bless.
  19. I'm just putting primer down to cover the exposed metal until I get everything primered and I'll put the color on at one time. I'm planning on stopping the color at the edge of the flares and blending the clear around the rear quarters. I do have one question, Burton. I'm using urethane primer over bare metal. I hear conflicting stories about epoxies vs urethanes, primers, sealers, etc. What has your experience with primers and bare, prepped metals? Should I be using an etch primer?
  20. I remember seeing this before and thinking "Why would someone do that?" here I am doing the very same thing. Ha! I didn't think about Eastwood. I'm so wrapped into this money wise, I'm forcing myself to use what I had. So, metal from Home depot and body hammers from Harbor frieght. I had more fun beating the shapes than welding. The rear piece was a challenge.
