carbed 350 with a four speed parts are cheap thats why gm still uses it lol plus performance options are all most endless,

i get between 13- 22 mixed depending on what shoe i have on

my tach is very slow to climb and drop with eng rpm is there any elec things i should look at be for i swap the gauge

the gasket was factory i planed on taking the head to a shop but wanted to try and leave the block in the car i will checking it for straightness and will use a feeler gauge to find out how bad it is. its there a "tolerance" on it? i know it should be perfect but money is tight thanks for all the input guy

had the same problem it was to striped studs and a crapy gasket fixed that and problem solved

the numbers are in 1-140 2-60 3-60 4-140 pulled the head and found a peace of gasket bunt away between 2 and 3 what causes this problem so it doesn't happen again?

so driving my car the other night it just started running on two cyl now im going to play with it this weekend just wanted to know the small things to look for before i do a compression and leak down test. ok so here is what i figured out before the tow dollie got there the car is NOT smokeing there is no foam on the oil cap or oil on in the rad the rough idle doesnt change if i unplug cyl 2 or 3 but 1 and 4 the car dies the wires are good i put a spare plug on the wires to test but didnt have tools to take the plug out of the block thats all i got. here is the history 87 quest 5 speed on the motor its got about 150k last years comp test showed 125-130 across the board replace rod bearing and time comp with bse last year new injectors filters and pump from PQ new ngk plugs and wire gaped to 37 dizzy cap and rotor vac advance all emission have been removed new t stat with *DM rad tb rebuilt with tps reset and a full 3 inch exhaust the rest it stock thanks for the help T87

i once had a problem like this turns out it was a compound of things. does your cruse control work or does your heat switch from defrost to floor to vent (not all at once)? this was one problem on mine a lonely vac port on the bottom of the TB also my vac line for the FP reg cracked there is a lot of vac line on these cars so check them closely. i also had a bad fuel pump dampener and some fubured injectors. hope this helps T87

my headlights go up perfect come and all that good stuff but they dont go down electricly. they will go down manualy. I check the stay up switch even un pluged it and get the same thing every time, thanks t87

i have been looking for this for about in hour, some times the search comes up with the wrong stuff. any ways i am replaceing all the vac hose and wanted to know what size and good place to get it. thanks T87

ok so after putting the motor back in after the new rod brearings timeing components. the turbo screams like a SOB it is a stock 12a, rebuilt at 60000 now has 140000 (or thats what the guy told me :character0285: ). but it is boost and rpm sceneative. so i checked for it getting oil by removing the return line and it is flowing very well. im not sure what the next step is??? thanks T87
