  7. no one swaps in the 3.1 turbo anymore......... 3400 is the way to go =) i agree though, will have better luck selling it somewhere else. dont think youll get 3k for it though.

  10. im taking off my head, and ive pretty much got everything disconnected. my only concern is not to mess up the timing. anyone got any tips to help keep the chain in the right place? ive taken off the heads in my v6 cavalier a few times, but never had to mess with the timing. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  12. ok i put in the shorter plugs, took it for a drive, and the car actually went perfect up to about 4500 rpms. let off the gas, car started to idle bad, then after like 2 secs the idle went back to normal. got on it a little more and the car ran fine, went back down to idle and it was bad... and now its running like it was before. checked the plugs, they are a little black, but not marked up or anything. =( another thing, when i let off the gas, the vaccum goes to about 20-22, but then at idle its at about 13-15, does that sound right?
  13. no unfortunately i dont have the original plugs that came with the car. ill go buy a set of those shorter plugs that were in the link and see if they will work. if not i guess ill have to take the head off and see whats happening. thanks for the help guys.

  15. BPR6EY... does the Y make a difference? i got them at advance, said they were for my car.
  16. ok, my spark plugs keep losing their gaps when i run the engine, they are hitting something. the little white plastic pieces are actually loose, and can move up and down. i dont think im tightening them to much, hand tighten them, and then just barely tighten them with a ratchet right??
  17. ok, replaced the plugs, O2 sensor and put the stock mas back on... still the same thing. the engine shakes pretty bad. would a clogged cat cause this problem??
  18. ok well ill try the stock mass tomorow see if it helps. and check the 02 sensor to see how it looks. good thing i bought plugs that had a 5 year warranty. thanks guys
  19. ok well i just installed a 1G mas and *DM HP's.... noticed my plugs were black so i changed them. after install the car ran fine when i got up to about 3k and started to get some boost, then it just bogged down and died. restarted it and it was idling like poo and could barley stay running... got it home barely, checked the plugs and they were already black and the gap was gone. the metal was actually a little bent on at least 1 of them. any ideas??? :confused0024:
  20. bought a 1G mas off of him, great to deal with, mas came like new.
  21. bought distributor and vaccum advance from him... shipping was very fast, and replied to PM's fast also. A+++
  22. check out v6z24.com... only about 10,000 members :wink: i got a 92Z with a few mods. whats wrong with it?? if its the engine, a lot of people are swapping 3400's into their cavis. almost a direct bolt in and run mid 14's stock.
