Shelby
i'd sugest you use the dash tach signal wire , from the neg terminal on the coil , not the ecu
on4now4
the instructions say to use the ecu, is there an advantage to using the coil?
Shelby
only if you tap'd into the dash feed after the diode it'd protect the ecu from any short out of your device,, in any event they are both the same signal and the ecu signal is a shield'd wire , the tach signal is not
Technology
Yeah, I think the tach signal should be fine, even though the stock tach isn't very accurate, I think that's a mechanical problem in the tach, not a bad signal issue. It's a white wire with a black stripe going to one of the big plugs behind the cluster. There's a wiring diagram in the service manuals, i think that's where I found which one. Maybe DJ's got one on projectzerog.com

Shelby
i've test'd 4 conquest tachs with machines costing $50k,, all were so close as to be not worth mentioning , now aftermarket units thats a diff story
860QuestTuner
I have an Apexi AFC and used the ecu for tach signal. it was way erratic and off from my tach that was wired off the coil.
