kmh_6905
ok everyone, great news, when i got the car the guy told me it was the (head gasket) after like idk since ive had the car? like a week or so lol. anyways well tonight i went a little deaper into the unknown, ive posted about what the motor wouldnt crank over and i have found the problem. pictures say 1,000 words dont they? and i have just that lol. please tell me in the pics of what u if thats normal or not? ok im under the car and took off the tourqe converter after struggling to get those bolts off and when i pulled it down, i saw a flexplate with a bolt stickin out and 3 others were so lose i could twist them off. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x229/kmh6905/Dodge%20Conquest/DSCN2403.jpg i could spin the flexplate round and round and was idk y its doing that until i took it off all the way. and guess what? this is what happened and idk how the guy did it either lol. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x229/kmh6905/Dodge%20Conquest/DSCN2404.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x229/kmh6905/Dodge%20Conquest/DSCN2405.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x229/kmh6905/Dodge%20Conquest/DSCN2406.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x229/kmh6905/Dodge%20Conquest/DSCN2407.jpg THATS SOME CRAZY s*** RIGHT THERE
BrazilBoy
WOW!!! If I were you I would put a wrench on everything else too. If you don't bother to torque something as vital as the flywheel I would be concerned about suspension, cylinder head etc...

Technology
You can get new flywheel bolts from mitsu, obviously you'll need a new flexplate, maybe even a new torque converter. Use RED LOCKTITE! lol. The yelling there was more for the previous owner, it sounds like you have a brain so this won't happen again. Nice car, hope you get it running quick. If you're taking the head off, do youself a favor and bring it in to a machine shop and have them check it for flatness and have them do a pressure check for cracks. Good luck! And yeah, crack. Jehu
I've had that happen on my old 91 Prelude (5spd though). The only thing that felt weird was that the clutch was engaging/moving the car before it fully engaged. I thought the clutch was toast so I removed the tranny and saw that...I was like "Nice!" lol Basically it was the bolts making contact first and the friction from that was causing the car to start moving before the clutch disc contacted the flywheel! I had two backed out like yours and a few others loose too. Edited April 1, 2009 by Jehu
TM
Be careful! 'Bet your fans (if you still have the OEM electric) don't work. -A common cause of cracked heads. The relays are missing in the engine pics. Welcome and good luck to another parts customer!
