No Spark to plug 4

Since I installed Edis and cleaned up the wiring a week or so ago the car has been running pretty rough. Timing looks good and I can't find anything else out of place. So I decided to make sure I have spark to all 4 cylinders. Well guess what ... cylinder 4 isn't sparking at all!

I used my timing light and went wire by wire to make sure I was getting a signal and on the #4 wire I get nothing. All the others are fine. Made sure the plug wires were on tight and checked again, nothing.

Sounds to me like the Ebay coil pack I got is screwed. Just looking for some opinions before I dump money on a new one. Thanks!

Another interesting fact is that when I went to get plug wires I brought the coil pack with me to NAPA, since is takes an odd wire, and they told me that the coil pack was only listed for use on a Ford Focus. He had no listing for that coil being used on an escort.

Each coil pack powers two plugs, correct? Swap the plug wires around for that coil pack and see if the problem follows the wire. If #4 still doesn't spark, it's either the plug or the wire. If it does, it's the coil pack.

Well, there is some internal wiring to split to the two outlets or it could have two coils inside. But if you switched the wires around and #4 still doesn't fire, I'd check that wire or plug.

when you say coil pac are you talking about coil pac AND modual as a unit , and do you have 4 sep coils or 2 coils with 4 coil wires , coils need to recive a trigger signal from the ingniter assy,,this is normaly call'd a modual , most of the time you can swap coils and see if the same wire still does not fire,,if that is so it's the modual that has a problem not the coil pac

I am talking about the coil pack. Since it is a wasted spark ignition there are only 2 wires going to the coil pack (and one +12V). I think there are really only 2 coils in the pack so this is what really confused me because if i am getting spark from the wasted spark partner why isn't the other working?? I just ordered an accel unit from Jegs. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Hooked up my O-scope to the VR wires and to the SAW/PIP wires running to MS. Everything there looks good. It has to just be a bum Ebay coil pack. I can't think of anything else it could be.

On a side note. There are 2 wires on the Edis module that aren't hooked to anything. One of them is a tach signal for the stock Ford tach, and the other ... ??

Everything i have looked at just doesn't show these wires hooked to anything so I assume it's fine. I am sure this has nothing to do with the current problem though. Just wondering if they should be connected somewhere. Pin 2 and 11 are currently unconnected

Thanks !!
