Building a trailer from scratch through the rainy season is a pain in the a**! Continental drift happens faster than trying to turn an L300 into an ultimate tow rig... One of these days my Quest's ship will come in. Until then I hang my head in shame for letting her slip into such a sad state :(

88TSI_Rob
We need more info on that Del Sol. It looks like a really cool project. What engine are you using? The drivetrain looks like it might be out of a DSM? Why a Del Sol? My guess is that a basic Civic coupe probably would have been a bit easier for that conversion and maybe a bit lighter. Scotty Dont
I think that drive train is out of a crv. But why would the del sol have a tunnel for the drive shaft i thought they were only front wheel drive.
JoeyLeet2
Whoa! I followed that Del Sol build years ago when I was on honda-tech for my CRX. Funny that I'd find the same guy on a Starion site when I didn't even know what it was back then.
88TSI_Rob
Ah, the CRV. I forgot that it has AWD. That makes much more sense.
Silver87
We need more info on that Del Sol. It looks like a really cool project. What engine are you using? The drivetrain looks like it might be out of a DSM? Why a Del Sol? My guess is that a basic Civic coupe probably would have been a bit easier for that conversion and maybe a bit lighter. Right now it has a B20, the 2.0 DOHC, out of an early CRV. Tranny, propeller shaft and rear diff are also CRV. However I'm probably going to swap in an Integra GSR engine to get it ref'd, then swap the VTEC head over to the 2.0 bottom end and throw a turbo on it a year or so down the road. Reasons for the Sol were basically A) I had one and it had the largest tunnel. As it sits now it weighs about as much as a stock DOHC VTEC Sol, 2550 wet. The class I'm building the car for has a minimum weight requirement of 2700 lbs which gives me some wiggle room. I think that drive train is out of a crv. But why would the del sol have a tunnel for the drive shaft i thought they were only front wheel drive. Reason the size of the Sol's tunnel is because its a targa top, the larger tunnel adds more rigidity to the chassi. Usually they are front wheel drive, unless they've been messed with

Silver87
Thanks guys! =3 Nice project(s). You built your own trailer? Supertrap muffler? I did build my own trailer. I needed something I could haul the car with and use as a mobile scale platten. The pads the tires sit on can slide around to match track widths and wheel bases from the old Mini up to late model Corvettes. Yep, it is a Supertrapp. Makes it sound a little less like every other Honda out there. I need to buy another insert for it though, the bolts that hold the diffuser discs rusted 'n snapped in place. Tryin to pull discs out as the car is just loud enough to get warnings from cops. Picked up a new head for the motor a month or two ago. VTAK yo! Should bump it up to around 200bhp. *crossed fingers* Van is almost done. Runs smooth. Still need to sort the intake plumbing bit. Rigged it up to break in the engine, but not drive. Had to clearance the seat tray quite a bit for the injector tree. http://www.tlarengineering.com/images/garage/mitsubishi/Starwagon/vanenginecover.jpg Edited April 13, 2009 by Silver87
