It is about time...

I've finally secured a vehicle to purchase. As some of you know, I had trouble with the last one I bought [the 1991 3000GT VR4]. I've found a clean 1995 Eclipse GSX. I know much of you will want to crucify me for joining the dark side of DSM.. but I just wanted an AWD car. I was very very very close to buying another clean Starquest.. but my better judgment came into mind. I need a reliable vehicle from the previous decade.. not two decades ago. It's hard enough to find parts for the G54B in these parts. Anyway, the car was amazingly smooth with no cosmetic [noticeable] and engine defects.

It boosted properly, and shifted smooth. We took it for a spin and I did hit the gas pretty hard. I also discussed that dreaded "Crank Walk" malfunction that these cars suffered from, but the owner had assured me that even with that he had it checked. The car's owner is an adult and is the first owner [which is very rare nowadays]. Overall, the car has some upgrades which I would had done anyway.

Has a T-28 upgraded turbo.

Side pod with A/F and Boost gauge.

HKS Hiper Exhaust.

ACT clutch.

Stillen Carb legal intake.

Intercooler hardpipe.

1g BOV.

And ofcourse, mainly the car has had all the service done to it by Mitsubishi (timing belt, water pump, etc)

Anyway, I think I've bored you guys enough. Here are pictures of the subtle beast.

On a side note,

I did win the trial from the bad purchase previously.. but the guy who I won the case from obviously doesn't have the money so he filed for an appeal. Now I'll have to go through the whole court process once again. This eclipse will be coming out my own pocket, which pretty much sucks.. but I am in dire need of a car. These small claim cases suck, but whatever. Eventually I'll get my money back. :sweatingitout:

Nice find. What mileage is on the car, if I may ask?

From what I've read in the past before I bought my 2G [had a '98 GST with LOTS of stuff done], the '95-early '97 2Gs didn't have the crankwalk issue. I'd keep an eye on it though, if it's over 150,000 miles. You should be in the clear though.

Hahahha Rusty,

It's dangerous here! We never get snow.

The mileage on the car is 88,xxx. The crank walk issue is scary, but this car isn't heavily modified.

The 3kGT guy will never win, he's just buying time since he has no money. There are two things going against him, he never stated the car to be sold "AS IS" and he didn't smog the vehicle before selling it. Now he'll have to repair it, then smog it, and then sell it. I told the judge previously that I just want my money back and that he could take back the P.O.S.

Gets real bad when the fog rolls in <_>

Nice car, Im glad you won that case and got a car you like.

Did you check the oil :sweatingitout:

You mean smog?? LOL...

Clipses aren't so bad... it's pretty much like a ever so slightly better Starion. Starions ARE reliable, you just gotta make em that way after so many years of neglect, sure change the oil... but there's more to it than that.

Alls I knows is, 4g63 FTMFW. 7 bolt FTMFL.

Hahahha, I'll check the oil!

Yes, 4G63 has so much more after market support and also has a lot of readily available parts. Plus, Eclipses are a dime a dozen.

As for the guy paying me back, well, there are some forms the court gives that can extract money out of his paychecks and other things that he owns.

The fog is a killer!
