unnatural aspirations
what up guys ive been visitin this site for a while but never actually joined due to the act i didn't own a starquest. i have wanted one ever since i was 16 when i bought my first truck(g54b plymouth arrow sport) 42 cars later i finally own a 86 conquest tsi. i bought it from i friend i went to college with heres some info on it. when i got it two days ago 86 conquest tsi(black) 98,967 miles on it leather interior(removed in rear of car but he stored it and its in next to perfect shape rust free body with a minor dent on drivers fender missing air dam broken drivers fog lamp open 2.5 in downpipe hacked air can new vac adv. secondary air injection removed passenger e-brake cable is broke i paid 800 for the car, the first time i drove it it seemed underpowered went and filled it with gas after a few miles it got better but still didn't feel quite right. with an open downpipe it was too loud to even diagnose what was goin on with it. the next day on the way to buy my 3" pipe for my exhaust i realized it would pull alot harder if i slowly rolled into the throttle not really rallying it shifting at like 4000. that night i welded up a 3" straitpipe from the downpipe back out the back. car still sounds like a tractor but now i can hear better the motor purrs perfectly quite and smooth it rev without missfire drove it a few hundred miles since and it has gottin a little better but when i get on it its like it is under powered and sounds more like a tractor then it will have power and a cleaner exhaust note going back and forth whith those symptoms as i go from a bout 2000 to 5500 it feels really wierd, in an attempt to make it run beter today i removed the egr and mad a block off plate and simplified the vacuum lines a bit thinking maybe the egr was getting stuck open. still runs the same though all in all im stoked i finally own a starquest after 8 years even if it doesn't run right yet

unnatural aspirations
thanks ill post some pic soon i dont own a camera but my bro does so ill do it as soon as i go over there agian. i've got big plans for the car but they with have to wait as i am broke right now . the only reasoni had the money to buy the car is because i sold my integra for about 900 less then i was wanting for it but i couldn't let a starquest pass me up agian last time i was going to get one ($50) my brother got to it first. it was parked in a field for 7 years cause everybody thought it had a bunch of different problems. random inline fuel pump out of my garage and it ran great, he never drove it cause it would run really hot so he traded it off for a 91 crx was a little upset when the kid got drunk and fell asleep in it so the cops took it from him never to be seen agian Edited August 25, 2008 by unnatural aspirations
