jonesh242
Finally found some time (oh...and extra money) to get my 88' Starion painted...still needs some wet sanding and buffing, but it's well on its way. AND...a special thanks to Kelly Dahman (*DM performance) for helping my out with an extra alternator. Voltage started falling about 5 miles from Mitsubishi...and just kept going down. NEXT STAGE------*DM's new intercooler and aluminum hard pipe set up! This thing is bigger and badder (proper english=worse) than anything I've seen yet...AND still fits in the stock location. I'll throw some pics up later this week after we do the install. Yall'er gonna be impressed!!! I have more plans (Top Secret), but if I told ya...I'd have to kill ya. jonesh242
looks great except for those rear view mirrors from a crotch rocket. Those are carbon fiber mirrors from Pegasus racing...they're used on race cars, not sport bikes. In my opion, they look a shitload better than the stock mirrors. But...I'll be sure to take'em off just for you... ...I'll admit they do look different, but I like'em and that's all that matters. Technology
Sweet. Good choice with the fn01rc's and cleared foggies. Mirrors are fine, color is good. Looks pretty nice.

jonesh242
are those justpaus's clear fogs? looks great yup...the install was a pain in the a$$, but it looks good in my opinion. It also came with the clear turn signals, but I chose not to use them. They're very nice...JustPaus does good work.

They are small, but I like'em for now. I had the stock mirrors painted just in case I wanted to switch back.

JustPaus_88TSi
Looks great John! I forgot about you telling me that you installed those mirrors when you were over here. I like them. Rims look great, everything is nice bro! I love the new paint too. Edited July 30, 2008 by JustPaus_88TSi

Rims look great, everything is nice bro! I love the new paint too. Thanks man...how bout those fog lights!...NOT to shabby huh?!! The car turned out a lil darker than planned, but worked well with the bronze rims anyway. The mirrors were more of an experiment to see how they would look, but they turned out pretty cool...although they are small. If I ever go back to the stockers, it'll be like watching traffic through my plasma TV...LOL. I'm turning my attention more to the engine and interior now. I have an autopower roll bar set up, but not sure if I just want to commit to a welded version. I also mocked up the carbon fiber door panels and a new center councel...just have to order raw materials and get building. Also, installing *DM's new intercooler and aluminum HP setup as soon as it's ready to go. I've already seen the intercooler at Kelly's...it's impressive. OH ya...gotta throw in an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator as well. Too much work and too little time to do it all. jonesh242
hey man thats a really impressive setup you have there! Can you get a closer pic of the mirrors? those look really good man. and what color is that? kinda looks like olive/chelse Gray Hi Jahjah, The color is a dark gun metallic pearl...although I can't see any pearl in...that's good because I'm not big on pearlescent colors. Anyway, it turned out better than anticipated. As for the mirrors...here are a couple closer pics: I got these mirrors off ebay for $50 (couldn't pass it up)...originally APR mirrors for a Celica that were way over priced. I removed the Celica bases and got the universal bases from Pegasus Racing in WI...I think you can buy the whole mirror with base for much less from Pegasus (much easier). They may have some different styles as well. I made the carbon base plate myself...you can get the raw materials from www.Fiberglast.com or just buy a prefabbed sheet and do some cutting. I made my own, but used the original rubber gasket (behind the stock mirror) to start a template. Let me know if you do this...there is one small hitch along the way...nothing major, just don't feel like typing a novel. jonesh242
You need to post some photos of your interior as well LOL...the interior!? Not much interior there...it's all been gutted and sound deadening material removed. It's loud AND ugly but, that said...I have some cool ideas that I'm working on...should be cool and picture-worthy when done. I guess I'll post some so you can see the progression...don't be scared...it's pretty ugly....LOL. jonesh242
Got my *DM intercooler mounted Saturday night and not a moment too soon. My car had been running rich...it stuttered and sputtered under a heavy load. After swapping atleast a dozen different parts, adding new plugs & wires and an aeromotive FPR, Chrisviper suggested we do a smoke test on the engine....and guess what!? The only smoke coming from the motor was from my intercooler...it had a nice crack in it! A big thanks to Chrisviper for even suggesting this test...I would NEVER have guessed that was the cause. AND...a big thanks to Kelly for bringing my new *DM intercooler over. 1/2 hr to install...my car runs phenominal! Check it out.... http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee37/jonesh242/Starion046.jpg http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee37/jonesh242/Starion044.jpg http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee37/jonesh242/Starion045.jpg
