hunter1
I really need to know if my voltage drops and there is no change with the car running or if the key is just in the on position, would this be a wire issue , Or could it still be the alternator, I am thinking not the alternator since it is the same reading car running or not . But I am not 100% can someone give there thoughts please. Car was running great and now this and it seems to have even lowered my fuel prssure a small amount? JAinsworth
It could be a ground issue. It could be the main fusible link between the battery and alternator...or in the online plastic box where it connects. If the a/c or defroster is on, the compressor will cause a drop also. I'd ensure I had solid/clean grounds first.
Shelby
just saying voltage drop means nothing with out numbers , your not gona read 12.65 with the alt not working , some times if enought power is being use'd you may not even see 12 volts
hunter1
Well heres the deal I cleaned all the fusible links and checked grounds, It reads 12 volts at the battery, but the gauge inside reads about 7 volts and will not raise??????
