Hello everyone, I am new here, Just bought this white tsi, has a few issues I have to fix. The guy i bought it from turned up the boost with a boost controller and it was all messed up with the vacuum advance and on the wastegate, I redid the vacuum hoses after i took the pictures, and one, it doesnt stutter @ 3k rpms anymore, but I did notice a decent drop in power. I am currently taking the tranny out to replace the front and rear seals, also a new speedo cable, and I am going to custom put LED's in my dash to bypass the stock intrument lights, so i can see how fast i am going at night haha

Overall it is pretty well. The exhaust burns tranny fluid that is splashed on it, and it brings smoke thru the shifter haha. Smells pretty bad right now, but an easy fix.

a little over 99500 miles, and also the pedals are too close together and I have to move them apart to fit my big feet heehe

Anyways here are the pics. Enjoy

Image of the engine, you can see the vacuum ports on the turbo, which i fixed on there, also the vacuum advance which i fixxed as well. No more stutter!! Also will install a new boost controller when i can again

Yeah, I know of the car. That VA line needs to go to the front port (out of the 3) located on the side of the tb, so that it won't get vacuum at idle, which is what it's doing (not alot but some vacuum is there) at the present location in that pic.

the line coming off the ovcp should go to the input nipple on the mbc, and another line comes out of the mbc and it continues onto the wg. Did you hook up the wg right? One port on the wg gets plugged, another is left open, and the third port is where the hose from the mbc is connected.

it is Cloth tan interior with modified black foot carpet. Very nice.

Yes I hooked up the wastegate like you said, plugged one and left the other open. No MBC for now, I will at a later time. I want to change all the fuel and ignition stuff.

Here ya go, few more random pictures. Also one of the interior. Still needs a major wash. But it rains alot here in oregon, and sliding around alot doesnt help :P

Interior shot, dirty after i rewired the dash lights and i fixxed them. Total of 30 minutes spent. So now ALL my dash lights and everything work perfect, and all it took was a toggle switch.

Sounds like your bringing her along nicely. Here's a secret for that rear end squat, if you still got the ST lowering springs in the rear (I did too until recently). Keep the st's up front, but put the stockers back on in the rear. Your stance will be perfect and it's a better ride.

Hmmm. Uh Robert, I don't think so. I've had my car since 96 (bought it in CA) and got the springs from Brett, who got them from a kid up here on Whidbey after he bought the car from the kid and the stock springs were in the back. Brett was nice enough to give them to me. Unless the car Brett bought (that had these springs in the back) was yours in the first place, but kinda doubt it. :D

LOL... think everything is about you eh... JK...

I was referring to Tuskan... that was Shaun's car, and he got it from Arnold... and Arnold got it from some old lady. Shaun took off his ST springs before he sold the car, and was missing one rear from his stock set. So, I gave Shaun one I had recently removed.

 Your right Robert, I thought you were talking to me since you posted right under my post and didn't refer to who you were talking to:oops: My bad.

Your car sits perfectly... you have ST's in the front and saggy old stockers in the rear?? Still have the rear ST's?? Some day I will see your car in person.

Tuskan, I remember hearing that you can just grab a hold of that pedal and bend it over if it's too close.

Yeah, I kept the ST's up front since they lower the front (only a little tho) and even'd it up by sticking stock rear springs back in the rear.

Their not saggy tho. It's about a .5 - 1.0 in. drop (from stock stance) in the rear with these stock springs b/c I'm not using the thick a** rubber insulators that sat on the top hats back there any more b/c I got camber plates back there now, and the insulators can't be used in conjunction with the camber plates. SO THEIR NOT SAGGY   The camber is a little better now too.

When I first sat her down with the stock springs in the back, she sat a** up high, like a cat in heat as Brett noted. Nice raked stance, but there was alot of room between the rear fenders and the rear tires, like stock. It's settled down some to a nice even stance now, to where I'm totally happy with it. The ride is more even now too. It was too jarring with the rear ST's. Now bumps feel the same when I pass over them from front to rear. I think it's a better STREET handler now.

And yeah, I still got the ST rear springs, sitting in my garage now.

So tonight I hooked up my aftermarket boost gauge, and a new speedo. And my speedo still doesn't work, so I don't know what's with it now.

Boost guage is a little hard to read, but i like the indiglo, reads around 10 lbs of boost.

well no, the stock O2 isnt even in use, further down on the downpipe is the O2 sensor for the wideband A/F ratio.

But as of yesterday I believe my headgasket gave up, or maybe even the head, or turbo or TB gaskets, not even sure, will have to look into it.

FYI, a wideband A/F sensor does not have the ouput as "normal" narrow band that the car uses(different voltage range). Thus the ECU will not be getting correct signals.

The stock ECU (I'm assuming your still stock from looking at the engine bay pic) needs a narrow band O2 to function properly ;)
