Lizzord30
Well we where talking intake temp on the MPI so here the post is, i have found that my intake temps after the ic in the plentum are about 20 degrees warmer then the air side temps, also at highway speeds it drops it down a few degrees. I have stock IC and stock 12a turbo, what do you other MPI ppl get for intake temps?
Boosted_One
I had a 65 degreee morning today and the intake temperature cruising was 72*. At 15 psi it rose to 75 degrees. The FUSO IC never goes 10-11 degrees above ambient temperature on the 20G. That's ~90% efficiency under full boost. From your findings Lizzord it apperars the stock IC is operating ~80% efficiency. Lizzord30
Well i just got back from a cruise and at a consistant 55mph with it about 62 degrees out, the intake temps where at 77. Note: We later found out that the Wategate was dissconnected so that may help it cool down.
Boosted_One
I was just at Arbys getting some 5 for 5 and my intake temps shot up to 90degrees from ideling in the drive thru for almost 20 minutes! Lizzord30
Well my turbo has some play and the intake side of the turbo is leaking a little oil so this may affect the intake temps...
vilification
Whats the best way to get readings from your IC ? (digital readout ?) Did you guys install permanent gauges ? Do you check before and after the IC ? Do you ever check it right at the TB intake ?
Boosted_One
Whats the best way to get readings from your IC ? (digital readout ?) Did you guys install permanent gauges ? Do you check before and after the IC ? Do you ever check it right at the TB intake ? The aftermarket computers for the MPI use air temperature sensors that you can monitor while you drive. I use the SDS 4E Air is only sampled after the IC on my set up The temp sensor on my configuration is located 1.5" from the TB on my IC pipe.
