maximum_overdrive
today when i started my car to warm it up it ran for 30 seconds and died and will not restart. it has done this 2 other times but it fired back up immediately . im getting no spark, got 12v to coil+, jumped the fuel pump wire and got voltage at it. it has a msd coil and factory says it should ohm out at .7 primary and 4.5k secondary i got 1.3 primary and 4.8k secondary its off but i dont think it would keep it from running. is it a bad dizzy? scott87star
Coil or ignitor. Take off the OVCP and have someone look into the TB while you crank, if it sprays fuel then the coil is likely at fault, if not then the ignitor or distributor pickup. If it sprays fuel that means the dizzy pickup and ignitor are doing their job and the ECU is getting an rpm signal.

PSiTSi
I'm having the same similar issue right now. However, I do have a jumping rpm tach, have fuel pressure at the TB and know I have 12v to the coil.
Funky Phil
What year? 87? I think Scott is right. Also, have you done any maintenance on the car before these problems started? Edited January 28, 2015 by Funky Phil

maximum_overdrive
got the ignitor replaced, works great and it fixed a misfire issue i had aswell. i mounted it inside the factory ignitor i just hope the box works as a decent heatsink http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q104/Drift_300ZX/002-4.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q104/Drift_300ZX/003-3.jpg
scott87star
The box makes a fine heat sink.
