Nightcall
So I was thinking of disassembling my front bumper to install an airdam. I went about half way into it until I realized a lot of the bolts are rusted and much of the body involves a lot of fuss trying to get stuff off...I really don't wanna break anything since I have to put it back together and park it back in it's spot (I can't leave her in the parent's driveway). I have an 86 service manual and I know what it says about taking off the bumper...But the drawings are few and I don't want to risk taking off a bolt I don't need to...OR do you suggest I go ahead and just take it all apart and label everything? I just intend on installing airdam brackets and air dam. Its....really first attempt at doing something like this. Thank you all

TexasQuest
Just did this last weekend. Luckily I only broke 2 or 3 bolts total. There are a lot of them holding the front bumper cover on and you have to take the front header panel and corner marker lights off first to get to the top bolts. The bottom bolts will be more rusty, just go slow and take your time, try not to break as many bolts as possible.

The Rabbit1
see if you can find "KROIL" spray the bolts the day before, they will come out like new. I get it at the local "Fleet supply" places. I work on Sea-going vessels, "Boats".. the bolts I deal with sit in Ocean water for months and years, this stuff works better than anything else I have tried.. other than a torch, lol Here's a pic of the stuff: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads18/Kroil1282969308.jpg Edited October 8, 2014 by The Rabbit1
