Starquester4life
So my power window stopped working and I impatiently broke my window! Luckily I jacked a bunch of parts off an 87 that was in the junk yard before they crushed it. Will the 87 window work in my 89 and what's the easiest way to remove the door panel. The one in the junkyard was a maroon interior and I just Tasmanian deviled the door panel off.. Any tips, pics, etc. would be greatly appreciated!! Crazy larry
pretty sure taking you time in the yard. would of helped you.. My suggestion is go back to the yard and take your time on other vehicles how things go together.
Starquester4life
Yeah it was a combination of 95+ sunny day and already worked 2 hours grabbing everything useful off it that me and a buddy could carry. Unfortunately it's already gone through the crusher and every other junkyard around town doesn't have any starquest's. I was sure I could find something on window motor replacement or door speaker upgrades but have had no success finding any threads
JAinsworth
It may not be a bad motor. Look in the FAQ forums on cleaning the switch. Jimmy
Starquester4life
I will check it out, thanks jimmy
JAinsworth
To get the door panel off you need to remove the plastic piece behind the handle and the pull handle also. The panels are held on with push tabs. I use a small, plastic pry tool to pop them out. You also have to remove the trim where the window slides in/out. Hope this helps.Jimmy
TexasQuest
Man you gotta be more calm lol! I get mad as heck a lot but you gotta walk away before you break something, these cars aren't a dime a dozen you know. More than likely it's a dirty connection or bad motor like stated above. Starquester4life
Took my time, about two hours & two bloody knuckles but got the window up and in.. Time to clean the connection and hopefully get the switch working again!
