Might use this as a daily if it doesn't sell.

93 Plymouth Laser FWD Turbo Automatic, Red and gold with grey interior. 100% stock and 1 owner. Local school teacher bought it new and drove it til a couple of weeks ago. He traded it in at the local dealership that has serviced it ever since new. The car wasn't running at that time, bad ECU. My good friend that owns the dealership called and asked if I would be interested since he didn't want to sell an inop car. I drop by quite often in my Conquest so he knows my love/hate relationship with Mitsu's. I bought it to keep it from going on the auction block and into DSM hell. Pulled the ECU and the caps had leaked. ECU is out for repair at this moment, should be back by the end of the week. Everything, and I mean everything even the radio, is 100% stock. Well maintained and daily driven.

Pics and details to follow this weekend. Driving report soon as the ECU is back.

Sale or trade, price to come with pics. Going to Venice Florida first week of June and can bring it with me. Picking up a car down there and will have room on the trailer on the way down.

New ECU is in but nothing to report. Battery was weak so I took it home and charged it and went back with jumper cables next day.....click....click. Turned it over by hand just to be sure, and that was fine. Thinking the starter is bad. <_< Seat is pretty worn on the drivers side. The original owner was 64 years old so I think he pretty much slid in and out. Cracks in the dash and cloth is faded in spots, reason is has no tint on the windows and never has. Auto seat belts work to my surprise. Rest of the interior is really clean, non smoker too. Has factory CD player, although it's not the double din we all want for our quests, single din radio on top with single din CD underneath. Outside has the typical Mitsu clear coat fade, peel, non existant. It is a sunroof car but this one is glass, no rust worries. Engine bay is 100% stock and really clean for the age. Not sure on the timing belt age, I would replace it just to be sure, and I will if I keep it. I need to go by the dealer for other business and will inquire then. Showing 118k miles and the needle fell off the speedo, pretty simple fix after you get to it.

Anyway, picshures.

I haven't driven it so I really don't know what to price it at. Was thinking 2500 after I check it out and drive it a bit. It may seem high, but it's one of the very few unmolested examples left. I have to work this week so definitely won't get the starter changed out til I get back from Florida in a couple of weeks. For some extra, I can have it painted if the buyer wants. Make an offer as-is, fixed, or painted.

Florida guys, if you want it, better hurry and make me an offer. I leave Friday.

  • 3 weeks later...

2500 is a start, but unmolested examples are harder and harder to find. If it doesn't sell, I'll swap the T-belt and daily the crap out of it. It's clicking at the starter. The bendix is popping out and engaging the flywheel so the starter motor should be the culprit but per your advice, I'll double check the relay. Will get a chance to check it out next weekend.

If you do the t belt the gates kit is good just make sure you use a dealer hydrolic tensioner. The gates seem to fail very premature. I'm not saying the starter isn't bad but the bad starter relay will give false

Bad starter symtoms. It can also be an intetmitent issue as well. They can be a huge PITA to diagnose just some food for thought good luck.
