Walker
a little back story... Bought a car from an older guy. The car sat for 8 years. Bought the car and finished getting it running about 2 weeks ago. Replaced the gas tank, fuel filter, fuel pump and everything related to a standard tune up car runs like a champ the 90% of the time that it starts...except 4 times in the last week or so it doesn't want to start....getting good juice and tries to turn over fine....but there is clearly what i'd assume is a fuel issue somewhere it has eventually started each time....but my starter won't last long if this continues it very nearly left me stranded tonight....the only thing i haven't done is clean the injectors or replace fuel lines...and i suspect the injectors might be the problem...but i'm not an expert and thought i'd ask for advice .. any thoughts? thanks in advance Edited September 27, 2012 by Walker
TadsQuest
When does it not start up? Just if its sat for a while? If you let it warm up and shut it off will it start right back up?
TexasQuest
Definately get your injectors cleaned since you said the car sat for 8 yrs.
mr-starion
And change those injector clips! Had that problem last year, 8 years sitting and then running on dirty injectors is a no no on these cars, their to damn picky. Good luck Danny
88-cnqst-tsi
my quest sat for 10 with 3000 miles of diving and the injectors are fine but the gaskets in the t/b are leaky
vbrad511
Almost sounds like an injector sticking open. R C Engineering in Cali or Witch Hunter can clean them (sonically) for about $40. Fast turnaround too.
