Ok guys i have been takin my car apart this weekend. Going to wire tuck some of it and a five speed swap as well as repairing my frame rails. Well i pulled my valve cover and the head looks brand new. But still has the jet valves. Its a hydralic head i have a spare mechanical head i had plan to rebuild and put on. Witch would u guys recomend? Hydralic or machanical? And when i pulled the head i found something interesting. The pistions look brand new as well and theres no balance shaft. So now my question is this. Is there any way to find out what pistions i have? They dont look stock but theres no markings on them. I can take pictures but have no way to upload them since i use my phone. If any thinks they could help identify them let me know i can email or txt pics to you.

First off, go to photobucket.com and start an account, its free. Then you can send pics from your phone to your photobucket account and post the img code from there. Then you can show us the pics of your mistery pistons, and I'll bet someone can tell you exactly what you have.

this is definetly the right place to identify parts, I bought a sq awhile ago with some aftermarket stuff, snapped a few pics and posted them up. I was amazed with how helpful everyone here was and how immediately the mystery parts were identified, now to put them to use and build a quest, lol!

That's hard to say. You'll have to see the bottom of them to know for sure. There should be a logo on them. There are some forged that have no markings on top with a similar dish but the angles aren't identical to OEM and those look like an OEM copy. The finish looks like forged. They might be CP Ross. I've not seen those in awhile and I don't remember what box they're in here to look at them again.

Ok. Is there any way to see the markings with out taking them out of the block? I dont mind pulling the oil pan but i really dont wanna mess with the bearings if i dont have to. I can take more pictures if need be. It also has no balance shaft any way to check and make sure every thing was done right?
