2xTSi
I noticed that mine is leaking...Went to Autozone/Pepboys/O'Reillys and even RockAuto.com....they can't even order them anymore. I guess I can make one.. but if you have any leads, I'd appreciate it. Edited September 12, 2011 by 2xTSi

ad8tsi
you'll find that mitsu did not put gaskets on the rear cover at all in most cases. gooing it is common.
TM
The part number has been superceded for the gasket with 3501A331 according to SW Mitsu's online catalog, although this is not a normal Mitsu number. I believe the gasket was eliminated in 1989 and replaced by RTV silicone (Mopar PN 4318034), so this should work for you also. If it is not really one of the axel seals or something else ahead of the rearend, my guess is that the lip of the cover was caught by a floor jack lifting under the rear suspension cross member, which caused the leak. So be sure to check the cover for flatness of the mating surface, but RTV should tollerate more than a gasket if it is slightly bent. 87TsiOwner
most manufacturers dont even both making a gasket anymore. They stopped that in the mid 90s. all they do is put a good bead of silicone on the cover and slap it on, way cheaper to do that and it does the same thing. 89PalermoSHP
I ordered it using that part number. Call your local dealership and give them the number. Some people say RTV only but would you use RTV only on the oil pan? On top of it, the mating surfaces are vertical and not horizontal like the oil pan. I used the gasket and RTV and have had no issues at all. I'm not saying my way is the only correct way to do it but to me, it makes the most sense.
