It's aggravating, one minute I'm ready to part the ~beeper~ out and the next I'm holding my spear bumper hugging it feeling like the little guy from lord of the rings. I have pictures of parts ,but every time I look at craigslist.org I get more miserable. I mean … the darn thing starts … it MOVES … just the front end is slightly tweaked... tried to send it to a body shop after they gave ME a quote and were all like ...well this is to much of a hassle there is potential for it to snap. So after making a epic rage face and kicking my K car and spilling horrible words from my mouth I sent my car up to a friends house to ROT. Unless I could find a car in upstate NY that isn't rotted to hell, I believe I just snorted at that comment I don't believe there is much I can do... So here we go parts I have laying around my house. Bumper with all the lights in it A sliver hatch A turbo in my bed room.... and a little trailer filled with crap … Is there anyone who's sold parts before and wouldn't mind helping me with pricing. I love being fair and I hate over charging anyone... so throw me a PM maybe I could chat with you on Aim or Skype? Theres nothing some sheet metal and a welder cant fix, anything can be saved if someone wants to put the work in. You should see the 66 chevelle were doing, that would scare the hell out of yea. Burton Posted February 25, 2011 Report Share Posted February 25, 2011 Just because a body shop doesn't want to work on your car doesn't mean they all are that way. Many people don't know this car, figure the parts will be a nightmare to get, and either turn away the work or overquote it so you don't actually have them do the work. Check another bodyshop or two until you find a reasonable quote. You can also look around on Craigslist for people to do bodywork out of their garages on the side. If you do the CL thing, you will want to meet with and check out those people's work to make sure they actually know what they're doing, but I've found about 50% at least do good work, and lots of time for half of what a regular body shop would charge. For a while I was getting almost all my body/paint work off CL, but it's gotten to the point where I'm staying busy by word of mouth without any advertising, so I don't post on CL anymore.
