FijiPhil
Not trying to be debbie downer here.. but why go through all the trouble to restore that car? Im all about saving these cars when possible. But that car has some bad cancer goin on.. And considering it needs mechanical work too.. I could understand if it was a rare color.. but its red lol. Why not start with a clean car? Even if you had to go out of state for one.. it would probably be cheaper and less time consuming also. Not trying to rain on your parade man. Just curious

Earl
he actually has a nice durban=D he got this one for $350 and he wants to put some new life into it=) he's got a buddy who'll fix that rust for free i think=~) it runs really well too=) it just has a cracked head=( otherwise the mechanical problems have been pretty well worked out=P i've been talking to him daily since he got this one so we talk about Ole Red quite often=) lol
starquestG54B
and concidering this car is 1 of 3k makes it rare reguardless of color and by the time its actually rust free and fixed id have only about $1500 in the car. probly less .and no hes not going to fix it for free buddy but probly around $200-$400 to fix the rust whitch really isnt bad atall. i dont care to partout a rusted 87 or 88 bc theres really allot out there but theres not too many 89's out there. 89 was the year i was born and ive allways wanted 1. now i do and im damn well going to fix it! Just curious http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif oh and i totaly forgot to answer your question. the reason i dont go out and spend a ton of money on a rust free car is simply because i dont have the funds to do so. i can fix this 89 and it would still be cheaper then to buy a rust free quest from another state. bc when you buy out of state you also have add the cash to get the car home. when you buy a car down the road from your house for ($350) and the dude will drop it off FOR free. that seems like a better deal. the car will be all fixedup after my friend is done farming. i will update the post when progress is made. get ready to drool debbie! hahaha

Resist The System
Alright the power-shifting comment made me roll out of the my seat. However guys, lets not forget we all started out some where? Sure his Quest has seen better days but I've also seen cars far worse that were totally restored (at-least I think so)? I give this guy an A+ for even thinking about restoring this car. From RAT ROD to HOT ROD, best of luck my friend! May you have GOD SPEED and a quick clean Car Cancer recovery!
