StarQuestMike
Hey so I installed the hard pipe I've had laying around that I got when I purchased a quest a few years ago, decided to throw it on my car. I put the bov facing up and not sure if this is a bad idea since it seems to be right on the hood when I shut it. Is it fine to turn it around? and there seems to be a place for a vacuum line to run off of, where would it go? Thanks. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll82/MikeTrottermb/IMG00035-20100702-1308-1.jpg
Bag-O-Chips
That port needs to be tapped into the 3rd port closest to the TB.
cyberquest
actually the best source of vac for the BOV is installing a 1/4 nipple on the intake mani. if yours is a 5 speed it should have a plug in it you can remove and install a vac nipple.http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b343/vcyberbob/Misc%20Quest%20Pics/TB-62-1.jpg you can see my line running in this pic.http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b343/vcyberbob/barn/greg047-1.jpg Edited July 2, 2010 by cyberquest

StarQuestMike
Did you have to re-size your hole? or was it a exact fit for the vacuum nipple?
intense98rt
I looked at autozone and lowes and couldn't find that size.
JAinsworth
The bov should not be pointed up, it will trap water.Jimmy

StarQuestMike
For anyone that was wondering I found the nipple at napa auto parts. Auto zone was worthless...try a real car parts store lol.
StarQuestMike
Okay so I went to napa and the smallest nipple they had was 1/4". I measured the nipple and I need a 1/8" bolt to fit inside the stock hole. I would rather get a stock size nipple for the car because I really don't want to drill the mani. I also read on the forum that it is a 1/8" BSPT which is a british thread and I am having a hard time finding this as well. Just would like some clarification on what thread size to get for it, and there has to be another place to find them than on other automatic quests. Thanks really need the help. StarQuestMike
http://www.z10eng.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=40 I was thinking I could drill a hole in this and then put this on there. http://www.anver.com/document/vacuum%20components/vacuum%20hose/hose-barbs/a1814b!.htm Would that work? Really want to know if this will work before I spend the money on it...cost 25 bucks for that adapter... also found this:http://www.fastfittings.com/product/32450 But no picture so can't really tell if it's what I need.
