For Sale: 1983 Mitsubishi Starion (In Roanoke Virignia Area) $3000.00 or Best Offer

SOLD back in Jan. 2011

Short History: The car was purchased back in Sept. 2007 from Scotty. Scott removed all rusty panels from the car, replaced the front windshield & repainted the car black. (it’s original color code X15 = black) I ran the car until the head gasket blow, causing the head to crack. From 2008 to 2009 I have spent lots of time, funds and research repairing the car and making it road worthy again. Many parts have been up-graded or are new OEM parts.

The car is running great !! (A/C and cruise control were eliminated on purchase)

My everyday driver, with 134,xxx miles on body, 144xxx miles showing on up-graded 150 speedo and 1,500 miles on brand new head. This 1983 narrow body comes with many original features from 83 and a few wide body Starion/Conquest features as well.

Fuel pressure reading on fuel gauges are 36psi, which gives a STOICH reading on the Air Fuel Ratio gauge mount inside the cab on the dual A-piller pod. A 16 row factory intercooler has been added to help send cooler air flow into the unique 1983 sequential firing ECI fuel injection system. The Intercooler has been mounted in front of the rare 83 metal air-dam as not to damage it. The rare 83 hood is intact, along with the other rare feature only found on the 1983 Starion: silver color center console covers, roll-top door compartment (located under the radio) and silver & black (now all silver) push button controls for headlights and hazards.

Interior was been changed out from the original grey to full black. Seats have been upgraded to 1988-89 Starion ESI-r/Conquest TSi Recaro style seats. The back seats have been reupholsters to black with red Mitsubishi logo, the front seats have not completed yet. But full instructions and reupholstering kit comes with car. Radio and speakers have been up graded to Kenwood and JL. (see extra section for details) Also mounted in dual A-piller pod is a Turbo boost gauge rated up to -30 to +30psi. The TD05-12A Turbo is adjusted to 9.5psi with a Turbo XS adjustable boost controler.

BUMP!

This is an amazing car that has been in the best hands possible! It needs to go to a good home!

Thanks TAZ for your honest support. :D

I hate to see my Car go, especially after all the work I placed into it, but I will be moving in July to Florida and I can't take the car with me.

So if anyone is interested I will be more then happy to answer questions, just ask away.

aM IN fLORIDA bRING dOWN WITH YOU i SELL MINES TO bUY tHIS ONE.

---------------

Might have to be taking it with me if I can't sell it up here.

What part of Florida?

Just an FYI reminder.... the car has no A/C. It was removed by the previous owner to reduce weight.

I do have a good 1983 A/C compressor to install back into the cars bracketing system.

You would just have to retro-fit the rest of the A/C system back in the engine bay. (condenser, receiver, cooling lines and cooling case)

This ride sounds very special! I love 83s and 84s! You mentioned Florida, but I failed to notice where you're from. This response angle doesnt let me see it either. Althought, it would be good to know. Any rust on the car? The 88-89 seats are the worst ones you could go with. Sad. Best bet is 86s or 87s, or aftermarket. Since you've got the car intercooled, what changes have you made? Vital stuff, I mean. Oh, and when are you heading to Florida??! hehe

The car is in Va, near Roanoke. Again I can vouch that it is a very nice car and has been well taken care of. Although I don't know all the fine details about it.

I will also say that if you are interested in the car and the front seats are THAT big of a deal, then I will give him the set of 86 seats that I have to go with the car if it's what you want.

Sorry for the Delayin my reply. (Have been work late hours at my current psotion trying to finish)

The Car is located in Roanoke VA. I will be moving to Gainesville Fl in mid July. (7-10-2010)

The 88-89 Recaro seat were added by the last owner because the original 83 seats were not worth re-doing.

The car has had the intercooler installed. I tried to add teh intercooler without damaging the metal lower air dam. (and it worked out well) The other changes made to the car was the install of the Turbo XS boost controller (set to 9.5psi) off the TD05-12A. The is TD05-12A spare turbo w/ 14B turbo internals that I never installed besold with the car. An HKS FCD Fuel Cut control was added to the car, along with a Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator & Gauge. (still have an original 83 fule pressure regulator if some wants it back to stock. I tried keep thing as much as 83 stock as possible because the 83 has such rare features no other Starion/Conquest had.

If you need anything else please let me know by send a Personal IM to me here or e-mail me. Straywolfstarion83@yahoo.com

Sorry again for the late reply... (and thank again TAZ for your help)

Hi Members....

Well I have less then 3 weeks before I leave for Gainesville FL.

The car is going up on CRAIGS LIST tomorrow. (Roanoke VA)

Price maybe listed a little higher then here, but CLUB MEMBER still get the $3000.00 Price listed posted on Starquest club site.

If you know anyone looking for a GREAT RUNNING Starion, please pass the word around.

I don't really want to ship my baby to Florida. (costs will kill me to flatbed it)

If the member within 60 miles (1 hour drive) from Roanoke, I can drive the car to meet them.

Thanks

Wolf

The car looks great. I have an 83 myself. I may see about obtaining another. I just got mine in November so it might be a bit tough to convince my fiance. I'm looking at September at the earliest if I can. I'm sure it will sell before then, but if not, I'll repost or send you a PM then.

I will get the posting open for awhile..... Probably until it sells.

The car will remain in the Virginia / West Virginia area with a long time friend and GREAT Club Member TAZ.

Thanks for replying

I was looking more to sell the car for cash, but I might consider a trade.

Only problem is a need a vehicle with good working A/C!

That is the only reason the Starion is up for sale and not with me in Florida.

(It's hot down here and A/C is a must in 98 degree heat)
