I'd reccomend not even wasting your time replacing the dash speakers.

Just make sure to rewire the door speakers so only those play, because from the factory the door speakers and dash speakers are wired in series.

Hi Friends,

I am planning to purchase the new kenwood system for my car. The old system is not working well it seems to be broken.

I saw in this forum that replacing the old speaker with the new one got some problem with the dash board.

I also check the google with the keyword "Replacing dash speakers" but there is no result of it.

I am totally confused and need help of yours.

Thank you.

Use the search on the site not google. I would recomend you not get a Kenwood head unit but that is my own person bias. Especialy if you are going to put in a system or drive amps off of it. My friend installled one and it's got lots of tuning options but just makes the whole system sound bad. And yes we knokw how and what were doing to tune it. It just dosn't have good outputs (at least the 3 preamp outs it has arn't good) can't say how good the onboard amp is as it dosn't have one or he's not using it (not sure)

I have to disagree with the anti-Kenwood sentiment. I sold and installed them for years and never had too many problems with them. They always seemed to give me better bang for the buck than the more expensive Alpine and Eclipse decks, and just as good reliability as the other compareable decks like Sony and Pioneer. I never did any competing with a Kenwood deck

, I always used Clarion, Sony, or Eclipse for the shows, but if you're not competeing and looking for a decent deck for the money, a Kenwood will work fine for ya.

Jszucs- I wonder if your buddy missed some of the audio controls on the deck. I got an EQ from a guy that was livid that he bought this brand new bad a** unit, but it never gave him anywhere near the bass output that his old EQ did. I had an EQ like his old one, so he traded me even up for it. I put his EQ in my car and it worked great. Long story short, he had never hit the right button, and never gotten to the "Woofer Volume" section on the EQ. I've seen a number of people "displeased" with the sound of certain equipment, because they are unknowingly mis- adjusting.

Lol...wow. Are you sure you know what you're doing? The preamp outs on the kenwood head unit aren't going to make it sound bad. You have something tuned wrong, gains set bad, Loud on, speakers out of phase or something.

With a head unit you get what you pay for. If you want a great head unit and don't mind spending $330, then I would suggest the Alpine CDA-9887. If you're looking for a basic head unit and only wanna keep it under $200, I would look at Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, and Eclipse. With a Pioneer make sure that the ground is disconnected when you hook the amps up. Pioneer head units have a piezo fuze inside them that could blow when connecting rcas if there is power going to the head unit and if that happens you will forever get a whine in your speakers.

As for speakers. I would suggest spending all of the money on a set of decent front components and an amp. Then if you want rear speakers, keep the sound faded to the front and use it as rear fill. Music coming from the rear will kill your sound stage though.
