OK so I got an 88 ecu for my 87 quest and when I pulled the old ecu out it was also from an 88 at least that is what was marked on it in black marker, so I looked at the numbers between the two and they are all the same except the 88 I was putting in had a A on the end. Here is what the numbers are maybe somebody can tell me what the difference is, here are the numbers for the one that was in the car when I got it and is marked 88 quest #E2T13674. Ok here are the numbers for the one that I put in that is also marked 88 quest # E2T13674A, notice it has the A on the end ?. there is also a bigger number above the smaller numbers on the label on both ECUs # 6394, not sure what all these numbers mean but maybe you guys can help me, thanks.

as i recall 87 ecu's are mount'd connectors up,,88/89 ecu's are mount'd connectors down , you may have an 88 not an 87 , most 87's with 88 ecus still have the 87 ecu case but with 88 internals

the 87 ecu had a single board the 88/89 had a smaller daughter board mount'd on top of the base board
