I've only seen a Yellow Quest for sale in Loganville, GA a year ago and this one below with a Headlight mod.

Anyone else do it or seen it?

I'm about to, I did that picture, but thats just photoshop. Theres a few around, none that look really good tho.

No plans of having pop ups. just stationary lids cut up. I got mine cut out, don't have any pics of it yet cause the car is in a few pieces right now.

I'm imagining cutting them like your photchop, just enough to sit a LED bar right there as a running light and then have some lower Profile HID in a smaller housing inside. Just would have to make it nice to look at when they are up.

D_Venable did something a while back with clear headlight covers, lexan I believe, and stationary lights behind them. Wasn't really a permanent setup, more of a test mule. Pretty sure if you look back a ways you'll find the post, or just ask him, he's got the pics somewhere.

I like the lid cut a little bit but not all the way up to the crease. I don't thing it looks good cut up this far.

Slowquest has me finish out a headlight mod he did when I did some other body mods and painted his car....

Not sure what lights he was planning to use or if he ever got them done. Last I heard the car had a tree branch fall on it while it was waiting for a motor.

The hood basically had parts of the headlight doors welded to it to make it straight across, and the headerpanel was narrowed to make the light openings wider.

I have headlight covers from an old yellow one that had it done - used to be an MPI car in this area too - not anymore - kind of where D got the initial idea. If you ever come by the house, I can show them to you.

Also, you know thats a photoshop right?!

Still in the works....But Lazy Eye ;) Half hight Pop-ups w/Projectors. AKA "Wall-e"

I reworked the Pop-up linkage so it works at half the normal lift. I have been trying to make a bolt in bucket for the lights.

But it is a PITA. They could be done if I just weld them in. I also want to make a fiberglass bezel to replace the stock plastic.

you where suppose to ship those to me a few years ago, lol

that old setup I had, was only on for one summer, I HATED how the cover turned out, and the light sat too low, Still have the whole setup too, only about $100 into as well.

But actual lighting of the road wasn't really effected at all, but I run my fogs all the time too, so anything that would have been cut off the bottom of the beam, wouldn't matter.

Also have test fit TSX projectors as well, haven't done anything else with it yet though.

The tape line across is where I'd have the "cut" line

would end up something like this in the end

how do you adjust how high the headlight rises?

The motor for the headlights Turn in one direction only. They make one revolution every time the headlights cycle. 180 degrees for up and 180 down. There is one arm that is secured to the motor amd one to the headlight bucket. By shortening both the same amount it reduces the rise and fall of the light. The arms on both sides of the motor are different sizes. so each has to be modded differently. I used 90mm projectors from rallylights.com(SQC members get a 10% discount). So I reduced the throw by half. Which made the math easy too. I made a shorter arm for the motor side and relocated the hole in the arm that goes to the Bucket. Then I cutout and bent up some inserts to house the headlights. ;)

I'll take stockers over any setup I have seen in this thread.

This car just doesn't look right with other styles of headlights.

Hmm, I'm inclined to agree with you there based on how our angles are, but I'm withholding my final judgement till I see a final version driving around ( projector ).
