serpentkilla
Yes like the title says another one, but this one is all stock and it has the batt in the stock location. i got rid of the g54b because it just was not working for me. I think i went thru 6 motors last year and i just got tierd of the unreliability of that thing. So i started looking at highly boosted post and decided to go with the 2jz. There is no place but up to go with this motor. I really have to thank Charles aka questpra for putting up with all my questions and answering them also Matt for posting all the pics and part numb ers. I got the motor from JDM planet, those guys are awesome. This swap had its share of ups ad downs but for the most part it was easy. I still have to get the drive shaft done but i want to fix my e brake first. I've been putting this of for 3 yrs so i figure while i have it in the air i should git r done lol. Here r some pics. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0783.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0790.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0790.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0917.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0912.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0913.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0972.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0969.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0965.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0968.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0967.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0962.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s285/pgoombay/DSCN0961.jpg

Also what trans are you using? the 5 speed or 6? the motor and trans, all the acc was 2600 shipped. It's a 5 spd total so far is approx around 3700, which is far less than what i put in the built motor last year.
serpentkilla
what was so unreliable about the g54b. were you MPI at all? just how did you go through 6 motors in a year? I went MPI in november of last year. forge piston, new everything. First block split with approx 500 miles. The other motors were just stock running about 14 to 18 lbs. I just kept blowing head gaskets, spinning bearings and burning up pistons.

serpentkilla
Has anyone done an automatic swap with the 2JZGTE? What is the HP rating for this motor Stock? Yes it has been done in an auto take a look see The motor stock is about 276, now the us version of this motor was about 320. The difference is the cam and the inj, the us spec came with 550 cc and the jdm came with 440cc primarly because the motor was in a luxury car. But all u have to do is swap em out and with few more additions u can easily be at 400 to da wheels on the stock set up.

If I understand what I saw on the video the guy was still on stock everything except went to a single Turbo and was pushing 457 to the rear wheels? He also speaks of tuning... can the factory ECM be tuned or does it require after market fuel management?
Dave-O
Sounds about right. The OEM ECM cannot be tuned that I know of. Most people who tune 2JZs go with an Apex PowerFC or AEM standalone.

He will be using a piggy back to help with fuel.
