Nightcall
I have a 1986 ESiR and was wondering of I can use this for stock option: http://jdlautodesign.net/shop/starion-conquest-top-mount-manifold/ I wasn't sure if we use "top mount" or not. (New kid learning about cars) Thank you
scott87star
RonnieJ, member here, is jdlautodesign. I believe the answer is no, its not a stock option as it required further fabrication (downpipe relocation and such) but PM him and ask. He'd certainly know what's involved. RonnieJ
Correct it will need a new downpipe. We offer it because there are a lot of aftermarket DSM/TD05 turbos offered.
importwarrior
Does your down pipe bolt to the stock exhaust
RonnieJ
You would most likely be able to retain most of the other stuff. My IC pipes and Intake worked with an HX and our manifold. My IC pipes were made for the stock frame turbo and stock exhaust manifold 12A on our topmount http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/SQ-12A-Top-Mount-.jpg HX on same topmount http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/SQ-HX40_3.jpg

RonnieJ
Does your down pipe bolt to the stock exhaust It does not. For 1 my car didnt have any sort of stock exhaust when I got it so I pretty much just made what I have work. It does end in a somewhat close location but its also Vband not a donut/2 bolt. http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/SQ-HX40-SQJ_3.jpg
RonnieJ
In car view of the HX with downpipe and dump http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/SQ-HX40-SQJ.jpg Everything pulled out together so you get the idea of the orientation http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/SQ-HX40-SQJ_5.jpg Edited March 22, 2015 by RonnieJ
Nightcall
I have HKS cat back. Does that count as "non stock" exhaust I can utilize your downpipe + manifold system? My mechanic is waiting for an answer lol!
Nightcall
Also I'm just using my stock 12A turbo. I don't need a turbo upgrade do I??

RonnieJ
You will have to make a "B" pipe that goes from the downpipe to your catback. Another option wold be to modify your current B Pipe Stock frame downpipe and B pipe http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l587/dmndstar87/photo8_zpsfa43f5c9.jpg Edited March 23, 2015 by RonnieJ
Nightcall
Oh ok. What downpipe option do you suggest from JDL I can use with this for stock use? I'm trying to avoid ebay/china exhaust manifold so...lol http://jdlautodesign.net/shop/starion-conquest-top-mount-manifold/

RonnieJ
We offer a hot parts kit. That would be manifold, downpipe, and dump tube. We can do it for an internally gated turbo or external. You could even run it internal with a block off if you want to go to external wastegate later. Need to know exactly what you want and we can go from there. http://jdlautodesign.net/shop/starion-conquest-hot-parts-kit/ TD05/DSM Inlet internal gate for 12A. We would need your exhaust housing to weld the OEM wastegate path shut like photo below. Welded exh housing http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/DP-Path-Shut-.jpg Downpipe would be like this http://jdlautodesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/StarQuest-DP-Open-Dump_3.jpg
Nightcall
I was looking at that kit, but I'm not sure how long my mechanic is willing to 1.) Wait for me to save money (LOL) 2.) Keep my head cylinder open and my car at his shop before I get those things you specified done. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for some manufacturing as well right? importwarrior
first JDL is the best place for exhaust manifolds and down pipes. Mookeeh used to make a down pipe for Stock replacements http://www.ebay.com/...19e710d&vxp=mtr i would still buy from JDL if you could.
RonnieJ
Yes we have a very full workload so wait time is going to be about 5-6 weeks
