i really want to do the 2jz swap, can any1 tell me what i need to do it and how i will use my stock cluster insted of a diff guage?? pleas and thanks help is much needed here

I went to go check my timing the other day and i followed the procedure correctly and i was just looking around the engine bay and i grapped the rubber boot on top of the coil blaster i have and it zapped the heck out of me. i remember this happened long time ago to but i just ignored it and was wondering is this normal? why is the voltage felt on the outside of the boot? i have a coil blaster 2 and msd ignition incase anyone was wondering and no crack or breaks in the wiring. thanks
