Walbro 255 lph pumps (GSL 392) DO have internal check valves.

I made a little setup today that pumped from a bucket with some fuel in it into a sealed glass bottle and it held the fuel and pressure in, just fine. When I removed the hose from the bottle, it popped just like a corked wine bottle. I let it sit like that for at least 5 minutes. My A1000 does not have an internal check valve and it is very loud. How important is the bushing thing at the opening for the TB? I don't have an EGR.
