I installed new Beck Arnley main bearings in my motor. For setting the thrust bearing I have installed the crankshaft and main caps with Clevite Engine Guard. I snugged all the main bolts to 15 pounds and then loosened the main#3 cap. I wacked on the front of the crankshaft with a dead blow hammer about 6 times. I then attempted to pry the crankshaft forward but there is no end play movement.   I setup a dial indicator and proved that there is no movement even though the crank spins freely.  

what gears do the 87 starions come with in the rear end stock...and what is a real good gear to use for the street/strip..or is the stock gearing in the rear end good...thanx
