Ok John, Starquest Members, I'm starting my "quest" to insanity. I'll just start by giving a ton of credit to all of you here, indebted for the insight and knowledge gained by lurking on the forums. So far, Engine out, the bay is stripped. All the wiring in the car removed. The dash and interior is out. The harnesses are not going back in but I plan to use most of the wiring. For those of you that replaced the factory harness after it was removed, my hat is off to you. Pictures will soon follow.

This is just a dream, but I was just thinking this engine, 1LR-GUE v10, would be awesome in a SQ. If you haven't heard this monster, youtube the Lexus LFA. I've been trying to find dimensions of it to see if it would even work, but all I can find so far is that it is smaller than the 3.5L v6 toyota puts in a few of their cars and I believe it is what powers the lotus aurora. Even though it is just a dream, what do you guys think?

SOLD!!! Hey Dudes, as some of you may know, I recently purchased the Quest I've been waiting for (1989 SHP Auto Fiji), so I am selling one that I was beggining to restore. This thread will be pic heavy but I want you to know exactly what you'd be getting, and I can't stand vague threads with no real info, so I'll let you know everything that I can. I purchased the car from a member on here who had intentions of doing a swap, he lost interest and was relocating for a few months so he sold it to me. I was going to put it all back together so I brought her home and parked it. The car came as a roller with a g54B block with an unusable head, and NO tranny so she's being offered up the same way. Here are the particulars: It's a 1989 Conquest TSI (Non SHP, no sunroof) Original Fiji Blue Car was automatic, so it has the LARGER TRANS TUNNEL, great for swappers! Car was purchased in Johnstown, PA, then relocated to Goldsboro NC (sometime in 2011 I believe) then I brought her back to PA in Jan 2013 approx 97k on the body Title was signed by previous owner, I never switched it over to my name rust free underneath, no frame rot, a few tiny cosmetic spots at rear wheels 87 black leather seats Nice door cards included they're currently in the rear seat Lots of odds and ends in a storage box, aftermarket piping etc. whatever the PO removed Dash is in good shape Un-cracked tail lights 6 Bolt axles OEM Exhaust OEM wheels in nice shape, typical clear coat spider-webbing. Here's the not so good, but not deal breakers that I can recall: No trans, I'll throw in the stock G54B short block if interested for no additional charge, came with the car, unsure of condition, wasn't installed when purchased. Clear Coat is flaky in a few spots, and usual door dings and such, nothing major typical rear side spoiler paint flakage Car needs a front bumper support, had bumper cover zip tied to the car (I guess for weight reduction, not sure) Air-dam is broken on one side, but may be fixable Armrest console has a crack above drivers side seat belt opening, but not unusable. I did replace the passenger side fender with a white one but I still have the Fiji one with the goober on the top. The only thing I removed off of her was the strut tower bar, sorry. I'm sure there are guys on here looking for something like this, and I can't keep all of them, I'll probably regret doing it eventually, but it may help someone on here build their dream ride so that to me, is worth it! I'm looking to get $800 firm for her the way she sits with all of the parts and everything included. Sorry, but I DO NOT wish to part any of this out, it comes as a package deal. And think of it this way... if you do plan a swap, then the BS of having to remove most of the OEM engine bay 'garbage' is already done saving you some time and aggravation And Fiji 'autos' aren't really simple to find, trust me I've been looking for years. Car currently resides at my father-in-laws in Hagerstown MD... anxiously awaiting someone to give her a loving home. Thanks guys, first with the cash takes her home. -N8 Here's the pics: http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/2012-12-16_14-34-01_95.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03211.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03212.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03213.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03215.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03216.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03217.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03218.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/DSC03219.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/2012-12-22_15-15-16_383.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/2012-12-22_15-15-02_870.jpg http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff408/n8tallica1/1989%20Fiji%20Blue%20Conquest%20TSi/2012-12-22_15-14-46_804.jpg

Anyone interested in an LS1 in the bay area? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4569068710.html

Hey everyone, One day I would like to do an engine swap on my starion. I'm not looking to do it anytime soon but I like to plan ahead. I've been looking around online to see what people have done and see what I would like to do. I've always been a GM guy so i've always been drawn to look at some of the swaps that have been done with their engines. I've seen some LS1 been done which is, in my opinion, awesome but not my style. I've been leaning toward the 2.0 turbo ecotec engine, then i saw a starquest with a 4.3L V6 GMC syclone swap. There is a video on youtube. First i would like to know your guys opinions on these two engines, and if the owner on the syclone swaped starquest in on the site I have a few questions for you if you don't mind me picking your brain.

Hey everyone, I am looking into getting a starion and was wondering if an engine swap would be worth the trouble if I got one. I was originally thinking just doing a 4g63 swap, but then I heard about the de-stroked 4g64, which gives 2.1l displacement and around an 11000 rpm redline. Would either of these motors be worth the trouble or should I stick with a g54b starion? The other option would be dohc g54b. Also if anyone is selling a starion, let me know please. Thanks.

Ok as title says i have been reading up on project zero g about a 4g63 swap into a quest i might be getting in a month or less. Now what has me confused is the wiring. It doesnt state what ecu to use i may just be having a brain fart when i read it or just over looking it. Do I use the DSM ecu with DSMlink (i have a couple laying around) or use an AEM or what? I know how to do the wiring merger on the B-38 and all but just confused on the ECU. Someone elighten me on this thing so i know if its worth it or not lol. Any advise on the swap is needed to like how to do motor mounts and the stuff to mount engine in i know how to do the tranny stuff and all also.

Hey guy's wondering if anyone has info on auto swaps?i have a 88 auto and wanted something stronger, anything out their that take much modding?

Just in case my car does need a new engine, how hard would it be to put a newer mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 v6 in?

Greetings, I'm here because it is my understanding that there is a Normally Aspirated fuel injection used on the Starquest vehicles, and I am interested in swapping that onto the 4G54 motor I currently have in my truck. If I find a good donor car I would like to swap in the whole motor, as I'm sure it'll have less miles than my Raider which just turned over 335K miles yesterday! The carb setup is shot, and rather than rebuild it, I want to replace it with EFI.

Okay the question is i have an 87 quest roller and want to build a budget so to speak race car. I'm wanting to do it all myself. i would like to be the closest to 50/50 front to rear weight (cutting the firewall is a consideration). with a 5 or 6 speed. i don't want to worry about heat. i was strongly considering a 5.3l iron block (lm7) for the cheapness and available and was thinking about matching it to a t56 (6speed). but i recently got a deal i couldn't pass up on a build 350 .060 over with hypereutectic pistons and 11:1 comp. and i think that wouldn't make a good road race/drift for the heat reasons and for the difficulty of getting a 350 to fit.. but I've already got it so it's a consideration. I also was reading around about a 2.1l destroked evo engine and don't have much info on them besides it's gotta be easier to get a 4cyl in place of a 4cyl and they can rev like CRAZY and i would like to have a good track car. What are my options with a destroked 4g6(4?) transmission wise? is this a cost effective swap? what's the weight compared to iron or even alum. block V8's? Is a 350 .060 over going to have uncontrollable heat issues? is it not a cost effective swap? would the weight be an issue (even with setting it back and even moving it down) Or is a lm7 the best bet for affordable, reliable and trackable horsepower? Any input is WELCOME Thanks guys, Jabu P.S. I will get some pics up of the quest later, if anyone is interested.
