  1. Mike, Glad that you found one! I'm sure you'll work through those small issues and have it in tip-top shape in no time! Josh
  2. I'm glad it's going to someone like Alid. These cars are hard to find in good condition anymore, and even harder to find in good, stock condition.
  3. It looks like it's going to Massachusetts.
  4. Deposit has been taken on the car. Thanks for all of the interest!
  5. Both actually. We picked it up with intentions of doing a 4G swap on it, but after getting it back and looking it over, we just can't see cutting this thing up. Once sold, we'll probably pick one up that's not in as good of shape to play with.
  6. "Original Miles", I.E., not rolled over odometer, not a laundered title, not a restoration with the odometer reset, etc. The car was repainted in the late 80s/early 90s by the original owners. Story was that they were following a gravel truck that basically sand-blasted the front end. They took the car back to the original dealer (who had both Chrysler and Mercedes Dealers) and had the insurance work performed by the Mercedes body shop. For 20 year old paint it still looks phenomenal. The car still even has the cadmium coating on most of the parts under the hood.
  7. I wish that I were in CA trying to sell this thing. The whole classic-import thing out there is getting off of the ground pretty strong. We'll catch up on the east coast in a few years... I wish I had more space/money. I'd be just storing this thing and taking it out a couple times a year.
  8. Yep, I forgot to add that since I copy/pasted. Good call--that does help.
  9. Thought that I'd post this here in case anyone was interested. I have it on Craigslist right now and will leave it up there for a week. After that, it goes on Ebay. <copy/paste from the CL Ad below> 1988 Conquest TSI With only 48,000 original miles! This is not a misprint! This car was purchased from the original owner who bought the car and shortly afterwards had kids and decided to park the car. The car was then only started and moved around their parking area for the next several years. I purchased the car and performed the following maintenance: --All New Synthetic Fluids (Motul Brake Fluid, Redline Gear Fluids, Mobil One Engine Oil) --New Front Brake Calipers and Pads and Rotors --New NGK Sparkplugs --New NGK Sparkplug wires --New Valve Cover Gasket --New PCV Valve --New Oil Cap Gasket --New Fuel Filter --Flushed fuel tank (although it was clean and rust-free inside) --New Air Filter --New Tires (Hankook Ventus V12 Evos) --New Rear Brake Pads and Rotors --New Swaybar End Link Bushings --All new Belts --New Front and Rear Wipers --New Thermostat The car drives like I remember these cars driving back when they were new! The turbo has no play, and spools instantly. The car handles great and accelerates as it was intended to from the factory. All of the power options (Steering Wheel Radio Controls, Digital Climate Control, etc) work correctly. Air Conditioning is ICE COLD and is the original factory refrigerant. This is a true "Survivor" car! $6500, located in Hatfield, PA 19440 More High Resolution Photos of the car can be found here: http://s127.photobuc...iginal%20Miles/ IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TWO LINES CAREFULLY IF YOU WISH TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE CAR: Please Call 610-Five One Three-8232 for more information or to schedule and appointment to view this gorgeous car! If you choose to contact via email, please make sure that all emails are sent with the subject line of "Conquest For Sale" so that it doesn't get deleted as the typical Craigslist "Is Item Still Available" spam messages. Thanks!

  13. A year or so we ran a very successful sale on ACT clutches for forum members. At the end of the sale we had two people bail for one reason or another and these clutches have been sitting ever since. So......it is time to unload them at a good savings to you guys. We have: (1) MS1-HDG6 which is a heavy duty clutch kit with a 6 puck sprung hub disc. $329.99 Sold! (1) MS1-HDR6 which is a heavy duty clutch kit with a 6 puck unsprung disc. $319.99 If you are interested act fast as we only have one of each left over. You can give us a call at 215-997-6850 or email me at Erik@jnztuning.com
  14. 1) Head spacer to decrease compression is a big no-no. It's the "hack" way of dropping compression, and comes with a bunch of drawbacks. For those who'd like to debate this, do some research on quench and dwell then pipe up. 2) Increasing stroke isn't always a "win" situation. Take 2.0 and 2.4 4G63s for example. I've disliked the 2.3/2.4s since they started using them, and sure enough a lot of people are getting out of them for those reasons. Even guys who were big advocates of the 2.4s have begun to realize that they're "Noisy POSs" (his words). Volumetric efficiency is what you're after, not simply "displacement".
