  1. They came on the cars without automatic seat belts.
  2. Definitely get the dual spring. The small spring takes up the space where the large spring leaves the perch as the wheel moves away from the car. If you don't have that small spring the large one will clunk loudly when returning to the top plate. I tried it with and without. Much better with!
  3. Careful w/ that. I saw Muse not too long ago and I don't think my hearing ever completely returned to pre-show condition LOL!
  4. The headliner is different with the manual belts as well as all the pieces beside the rear seats. To do the job properly, you need to cut out the piece of metal on the rear roof/door edge that was welded in for the electric seat belt cars (that is if you have the manual belt headliner, clips, etc). If you don't have these pieces maybe there is a way to modify that upper trim piece on each door. Even the carpet is different in the manual seat belt cars. I did the full swap years ago and it's pretty extensive to do it 100% correctly. I should do a write-up 'cause I took tons of pics.
  5. Sure, no problem. On one 'quest I had I pulled it all out and stripped the car harness down (in theory to make things simpler and lighter) since it was going to be more of a track car. It ended up being more of a hassle than beneficial. Years later I regretted it because I went back to wanting the car more streetable. I pulled the full car harness out of a parts car and put it in my car to get many of the power items working again.
  6. The beauty of the starquest is that the car and engine wire harnesses are separate. I wouldn't fool with the car harness. If you eliminate an item (eg. the vac pump, abs, etc), just tape shut its connector. Yes, yank the engine harness and start fresh for the swap. Part of the engine harness ties into the car harness for stuff like the gauges so you'll want to trace those lines out, keep that connector and some length of wire to get all those things working again. The problem with pulling out the car harness is that you start dealing with relays and such to get certain things to work like pop-up headlights and power windows. It's easy in a muscle car to completely go with a Painless harness because they don't have all the power stuff our cars have. Also, Mitsubishi shared a lot of ground wires so it can become a nightmare trying to thin out the harness. You're not going to save that much weight anyway. So don't fool with the car harness. This is just my opinion because I've been there and back.
  7. ^ you beat me to it. The conquest doesn't have a frame in the back like a mustang or camaro with a straight axle. A rollbar or cage is the best way to tighten up a 'quest.
  8. So funny!!! Lost in the negative space
  9. I've got the full setup for $55 shipped. I had this on my car for a while when I decided to forgo the electric fans. I then parted the car out and kept a few items in case I got another 'quest. I don't think that's gonna happen now. The shroud was in great condition except for some lower surface rust so it was sanded, prepped and spray painted gloss black before put on my car. Everything is in very good condition. I take paypal or postal mo. Just let me know! http://www.1350.forge-d.com/images/manual-fan-conversion-01.jpg http://www.1350.forge-d.com/images/manual-fan-conversion-02.jpg
  10. Strange yet funny at the same time yet I have no idea why I'm finding any humor in it???
  11. That car is hawt! My buddy Charlie has a couple Atlantic blues back in MD. I love that color!
  12. Thanks, yeah, I just read in the paperwork that if I can't make a set that they can be purchased from HP. Still considering loading xp so I can use my creative suites programs. I just don't wanna mess it up and have to rely on someone else to get me back up and running. I read it can be done.
  13. Thanks for the replies guys! Well, I started the computer up today and the virus has been eliminated but it has left lots of damage. I ran another full scan and it found nothing new. Most programs when I try to open them display the 'open with what program' box. Some programs say missing, etc. I guess I should have made a set of recovery discs when I first got the computer. I'll be going out today to get some dvd's to do that and a thumb drive so that I can start backing up my important files on a daily basis. Hopefully I can make a set of recovery discs from an earlier date before the infestations took hold. The only cd I got with the computer is for the monitor. I purchased the HP at Costco. Anything I'm missing here or any advice? I've also been kicking around the idea of removing wins 7 and going back to xp. My thoughts being that xp for me is much easier to navigate and that a lot of programs I have work in xp but not on 7 (64-bit) like photoshop cs, illustrator cs and a few external devices (scanner, etc). I probably should just stay with 7 since the machine is really made to work well with that, since it's newer technology and since I'll probably royally screw things over trying to make the switch
  14. I need to vent a bit - I just spent most of the day trying to get my computer to function properly. I'm a little tech savvy and can't believe I got myself out of this jam. Dumb me has been running my new computer w/o virus protection for almost a year now. It's been running great up until today when a windows 7 home security trojan took control of my system. The biggest problem I had was that it was blocking all access to the Internet. I tried ffox, xplorer and safari. They all came up blank. Luckily my wife reminded me that I could get some answers on my web-enabled phone. I was able to get some of the annoying pop ups to quit with a little help from a couple websites. I still couldn't get on the internet though to download a free virus protection product to help me get rid of the viruses. Finally as a last resort I ran an old .exe file in my downloads folder and it was able to connect me to the Internet (kind of in a back-door fashion). I then quickly did a search and downloaded a free version of Avast. I ran it and after about an hour it found 7 trojans and a keylogger along with a few other things. The whole purpose of the original win 7 trojan was to trick/hi-jack me into buying their product to get the computer working properly again under the guise of 'it's legit from Microsoft' (wish I would've bought a MAC!). I almost gave up a couple times to wait and just grab a virus protection cd tomorrow but I'm glad things are mostly working now. I'm still getting a process named qio.exe that I have to keep closing (for it to just reappear later) that keeps giving me an annoying pop-up. Moral of the story - yeah, life ain't fair. I want the last 5 hours of my life back! I took a screenshot of what the software contained if anyone is interested. I can attach it tomorrow, my eyes are burning right now and I'm ready for bed. I don't know what to make of much of it. Oh yeah, I went ahead and changed a few passwords just in case too. They need to hang these jokers but that's a whole 'nother discussion.
  15. Anyone still typing in all caps nowadays is an idiot!
  16. That was worth the watch! I also have a Blackie Laser Eyes but she's cool with the litter box.
  17. That really sucks! Sorry to hear that.
  18. Cool story (other than the soldier who lost his life). Rest in peace!
  19. And a whole '1' picture. Wow, what effort!
  20. Quickly looking, it's missing the dash plug to the right of the non-stock steering wheel.
  21. Yeah, I saw that the other day too and wondered the same thing. It's not that I don't think these cars will be worth that 'buy it now' one day (even in faded out condition needing some work), it's just that time isn't right now.
