Your probably right, Robert... I need another project. -
Nice fricken car. I like that interior but I always thought that was vinyl on the bolsters and not leather?? Seems like they wear differently than the rest of the all leather seats.

New product Thermal barrier intake gaskets!

From an outside perspective, ANYONE who spent money on a product that did not yet exist made a bad decision. Its like investing, if things don't go as planned you cant start crying and asking for your money back. Suck it up and hopefully learn a lesson. -
Best Spark Plug Wire/Boot Puller On The Market!

As for tools, its better ti have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. -
Keep in mind rapid tooling and a mold would be the same animal in this situation. Like Burton stated, there is no other way to produce a urethane part without using injection molding. Someone should really try contacting mitsubishi. I would guess their tooling still exists?

What the heck happened to the back of your car??? (dawns fire retardant apparel )

Mark is 100% correct. I too worked in a mold shop for 8 years and the size of the tooling required to make one of these parts would be huge. Chances are good you could use a P20 tool steel for some savings but this project would require a big fanatic of these cars who won the lottery. There are quite a few places Ive seen lately in job searches who specialize in rapid tooling. I would get together a package you could send them, preferrably an accurate CAD file, and get some quotes. I still think it might be cheaper to approach Mitsubishi and beg them to either make more airdams or sell their tooling.

Heres what you gotta do to quickly find out if parts are available.... First, and most importantly, know the part number of what your trying to find. If you call a dealership with out one your going to get nowhere. Find the part number and call your local dealership and ask to speak to someone in parts. Give them the part number and ask them if it can still be had. Don't bother them with what kind of car you have ect... give them the part number and the part number only. They will search the same data bases these online place do(because these online places are just a dealership anyway ). If its still available, then order it from one of the online places because even with shipping your probably still going to save money. I too the time to make a list of ALL of the front end components along with their part numbers so you can copy and paste(the online parts manual does not let you do that since its an image and not text) them in part searches. http://www.starquest...showtopic=70565

Replacing Silicone Couplers/clamps, resources?
89PalermoSHP replied to natallica's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
F summit... Look up mk3tuner on ebay and give him a laundry list of what you need and he will hook you up. He even sent a few extra clamps, not that they were really needed but it was a nice gesture. -
lol...

A seller on ebay named mk3tuner always had the best all-around service and value. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=&_sadis=200&_ipg=50&_sasl=mk3tuner&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_fss=1&_saslop=1&_fsradio=%26LH_SpecificSeller%3D1&_ftrt=901&_ftrv=1&_adv=1&_sop=12&_osacat=0&_dmd=1&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=coupler&_sacat=0&_from=R40 -

Well that was just it... get the talon and take the engine/wiring. But I didnt think far enough ahead about the trans not bolting up. I really would like to do the hybrid motor. Its something that's always interested me and I would prefer dohc and mpi to the g54b. Although I wouldnt mind g54b since I am much more familiar. So point me in the right direction for the hybrid wideblock!
