120 compression straight across the board
Chad replied to Lance_S's topic in Advanced Virtual Mechanic
the length and diameter of the gauge hose dictates how long it takes to get a "full" reading. That air in the gauge hose is like a spring, takes a few compression cycles to compress it before the gauge needle will = actual cylinder pressure. -

depending on a few factors, it will be 5-6 PSI, maybe even as much as ten. That would put it in the range of a very healthy stock bottom end. Much higher and I'd suspect the gage. 145 is for a fresh build on a higher CR motor. -

was the throttle held wide open with all the spark plugs out while you did this test? Those factors skew the results. -
it won't yiled more peak HP, but will make HP faster [acceleraton]. spinning up that added mass takes power, power that could go to the wheels if the mass weren't there. During acceleration, it coudl be felt as mroe power, but at it's peak, the advantage would no longer exist. It woudl effectivly move the whole power curve to the left. We're only talkign a HP or three though.

Find a site rule he's violated and let me know...

Looks like another mod unapproved the whole topic, when they probably ment to unaprove an inflametory post buy a different member. I've made the corrections and your post is no longer hidden. Hopefully having it back will restore balance and harmony to this forum.

No problem. I see your point, just not where it went.

I don't know, rusty is pretty creepy. I don't think I'd feel safe getting drunk in his presense. -
No problem dude. Once one member goes off-task, and others pile on, we really have to fix them all. It's not quite fair/reasonable to just cherry pick them at that point. An "all or nothing" type deal. As much as I hate it at times, we have to have zero tollerance or it doesn't function propperly. Feel free to add what you have, just use the approved format. Same goes for any transaction, positive or negative. you'll make sottys day if you leave feedbback.

stop the madness. please. -
Please do so, just follow protocol. If you skirt the rules, so will everyone else, then they become meanignless and chaos ensues. When opinion and 3rd party details enter, it always leads to chaos. Facts only please, and you have to be a seller or customer to qualify for sales feedback.

but blood was still shed... -
Oh, I just found that too. you guys need to read the rules. It's your responsibility to know them, not ours to enforce them. There is a overall site policy, a forsale policy, and a feedback policy. Read all 3, follow them, and sit back and enjoy never having your stuff messed with. The feedback policy is pinned to the top of the feedback forum, and the sales policy is pinned to the top of the sales section, it should be pretty easy to comply.
-
never mind, I found it in the for sale section. thats not feedback, that's being an tail in someone elses for sale post. You are lucky you only had your posts hidden.
-
I don't see anything in the feedback forum, where did you post it?
-
when?

From a prior posting: http://www.starquest...showtopic=65796

Therein lies the simlicity of the solution.

I'll send you a PM David. -
too much moderation going on here, but oh, by the way, the guys I don't like need moderated.
-
if you both followed my advice, none of this would be necessesary. If we don't have anything positive to contriubute, we can't very well exect positive reulults, for ourselves, nor for others. Sarcasam has a line, let's not cross it.
-
why don't we just stop picking on each other and assuming things? way too much of that going on here these days. Be positive, or post elsewhere. there is plenty of internet to go around.
-
Yah, we need more moderation ! No, those mods moderate too much ! But we need more moderation ! But you moderate way too much ! Those mods let things go too far, more moderation is needed ! Those mods moderate everything! Those mods won't protect me from attacks ! Those mods won't let me have freedom of speech ! Those mods are letting the nubies run the site ! Those mods are letting old timers run off the nubies ! Those mods won't let me post funny/stupid stuff for fun Those mods let members post stupid stuff, and it's no fun Moderate yourselves for christ's sake !
