  1. Yea, it's a switched ground. In my obnoxiously long rant above (can't blame ya if ya skimmed lol), I believe I said so. It's a switched ground and even tried it straight to the negative battery terminal. The jumper and override switch worked perfectly prior to installing the new items. The new radiator is from *DM, all mounting locations/bung locations/etc are same as stock. And as I also mentioned in my encyclopedia-sized post, I put in 2 brand new 180* thermosensors from mitsu. I will double check the FAQ on jump testing relays though... that is something I'll want to know tomorrow when I can work on the car. I'll try this as well. But even if the sensors are bad, I know the jumper/override switch always worked before, and even that override switch fails to turn the fans on now. But AC fires all 3. Leads me to initially believe that it has to do with the fan relays (and the AC fan relays are good) as ucw suggested above. There's a real good chance I knocked a connection loose on that end when removing the stock ic pipes and installing the new hard pipes (and removing/reinstalling the intake pipe to make it easier). I'll check it all out tomorrow, and post back with the results. Thanks once again everyone.
  2. Thanks... The 2 sets of relays makes sense, I probably knocked one loose. That'll be a perfect starting point when I get over there tomorrow. Thanks again!
  3. Hey all, I've been dormant around here for quite a while, but just got the old girl back up and going. However, I have a strange issue with my cooling fans. Quick back-story - just got her back together with a new ic, new radiator, 2 new 180* thermosensors, and ic pipes. Previously had a bad 180* sensor, and a working 210* - temporarily jumpered them with an override switch and all was well. Now that she's back together she seems to be idling and sounding much smoother than before (probably the 2 vac lines I found that lost a battle against the belt haha). Anyway, now onto my new issue. As I said, I got all the above back into the car. Nothing appears to be out of place. I started her up and let her run. Was letting it warm up so I could "bleed" the coolant through the system and get rid of any air pockets. She rose to a little above halfway on the temp gauge, but the fans never came on. I flipped the override switch (all my previously working wiring is still in place, except one splice which was replaced exactly as it was before), and still nothing. I will point out now, I'm ok with basics, but electrical is not my strong suit. So any suggestions you may have, please keep that in mind lol. I figure my ground may be bad as I went from the stock radiator to an aluminum, and kept the ground points on the fan shrouds. So I pulled my override switch ground and ran it straight to the negative terminal on the battery, flip the switch..... and nothing. Before I started poking and prodding around with any test lights or anything, I had one thought - I turned the AC on, and what do you know - all 3 fans kick on. Turn AC off, all 3 go off. Still nothing otherwise by temp sensors themselves or the override. So... I know I have power and ground going to the fans. But only when the AC is on? What am I missing that would cause the sensors to not activate the fans, and the override to not activate the fans, but as above - AC triggers all 3 flawlessly. I won't have a chance to really get to the car and check things out until Sat... but would love to get some thoughts and suggestions together to have an attack plan. So, who has some thoughts or ideas as to what I may have missed? Don't hesitate to point out blatantly obvious things, I know I'm not electrically inclined. I'll take thoughts about anything - any remote connections that may have been undone and overlooked upon reassembly, etc. Thanks in advance - I know this forum has helped me fix several things in the past.
  4. No, not yet unfortunately. Just haven't had a chance to work on it at all. I did buy an exhaust mani in great condition, so when I'm able to get her apart, I'll toss that in and re-surface everything else as Indiana suggested. I'm assuming that's my only issue, since I can't find any leaks at all under there... but there's always a possibility haha. If you find anything out on yours, post up in here and let me know so I can check mine out as well. Thanks, Brian
  5. Aww crap. I'll have to keep that in mind. I talked to Jeff a couple weeks ago... probly gonna bring my stealth down sometime this year for some goodies (waiting on a settlement haha).
  6. IPS Motorsports has the Innovate kits for $243.97 shipped. Just got mine from them about a week ago. http://www.ipsmotorsports.net/advanced_sea...ywords=innovate
  7. Thanks Edde. Yea, that's the one I'm talking about. It comes from underneath the intake (goes into a sleeve that has a second vac line) and connects to the vac nip ple on the aircan, right before the filter (I'm running a 1g mas without a lid atm). I'll check it out this weekend, and see if I can trace it back to the wga to remove/plug it. Edit: Hahaha. When I tried to type nip ple, it censored it and changed it to mountain.
  8. What's the condition of the exhaust mani? And could you snap a pic or two?
  9. Just a quick question. I have a maf translator I plan to install sometime soon (along with wideband)... what should I do with the vac line that goes to the aircan? Do I just block it? I looked through the threads in the SQ FAQ section, but didn't see anything relating to this line. And while I'm thinking about vac lines... anyone have a write up on doing a reduction at all? The thread in the FAQ section has the first post (which would appear to have been the one with the write up) edited to now just say "Edited". Thanks, Brian
  10. Where were you 2 days ago? haha Just bought all this stuff yesterday, for a little over $500 total. Good prices. Should sell quick.
  11. Do you have any exhaust manifolds floating around? I need to have mine resurfaced... but it would be much easier to just grab one in good shape. And any black cargo area covers? Edit: 2 more - as odd as it may sound, good condition battery cables? Mine are looking a bit crusty. And a good/clean/leak-free radiator? Thanks, Brian
  12. Well, I hope it's not a turbo issue... it's a rebuild from Trilogy (bought with one of the GP's he did a year or so ago). It's got probably 50 miles on it - cracked the head right after installing the new turbo... bad vac line routing FTL. The only smoke out of the exhaust is because it's running PIG rich. And even that seems to mostly clear up once the car warms up and goes closed loop (I believe that's the term?). MAFT and Innovate WBO2 on the way to take care of. Hmmm. Makes a lot of sense. And there IS an exhaust leak as it meets the DP. I figured I just needed a new gasket or something, because it didn't become noticeable until I put the new exhaust on (Mookeeh 3"). It'll be a little while before I can actually get into it that deep (long story short: me on motorcycle vs. some guy in a cadillac running a red light.... I didn't win), but this will be the first thing I do. Anyone have any others suggestions for me to do while I'm in there? I know I need to find someone to re-do my electrical for me, it's starting to look a little ratty. I'll bump this thread back up as I get to make any progress on it. Thanks for the help! And like I said, if there are any more thoughts or whatever, feel free to throw them out there.
  13. So my car's tucked away for the winter.... and I've been starting it up and letting it run every so often. I let it run for a while the other day, and after it warmed up, I noticed some smoke in the engine compartment. I did my absolute best to determine where it's coming from, and it would appear to be from the bolt circled in this pic: http://home.comcast.net/~bridog/manibolt1.JPG Is it even possible for smoke to be coming out from that bolt? I'm 99% sure it's not dripping down and just burning there, because I couldn't see or feel anything wet under the turbo. Thoughts? Ideas? Anywhere else I should look? :confused0024: Thanks, Brian
  14. Anyone have pics of the dual tip installed yet? I plan to throw mine on this weekend.
  15. Check out the 5th post on page 2 of this thread (posted by 4ever9er).
  16. Got mine last night. They look great! Thanks again for putting this together for us!!!!!
  17. Nice.... then I guess I got an awesome deal.
  18. I sucked it up, and sent him $150 for them.
  19. LOL I guess that's actually a good description.
  20. Hey Chuck, Just wondering if you got the MO yet? LMK. Thanks again, Brian
